Naturally adversarial, almost certainly feminist, but with the addition that they know the justice system is strongly biased in their favour and they know how to abuse it.

The DA is acing pissed. They offer plea deals because they like to keep their docket clear, plus a plea deal let's them keep their conviction rates higher than it might normally be. That said the DA might be making a mistake going for the higher charge, here. The DA went with the lesser charge before because he also understood that was probably the best he could be assured of getting a conviction on. Going full tilt may backfire.

I'm sure you know this, since I don't know what type of lawyer your friend is, but a felony trial is a knife fight in a phone booth, the goal is less stabbing on the defense than it is blocking your opponents knife.

The big problem is the bruises and the picture. Your friend should say up front that he did it, but use a woman's defense from that point on. As in, "I did kill my husband, but you don't understand he was really abusive to me." As she speaks about a man that is a deacon at the church, coaches little league, and rescues puppies in his spare time and has never been seen to say a cross word and dotes on his wife.

It's even better if he can tell of her attacks and increasingly erratic behavior and how she had him backed up against a wall screaming like a drill sergeant at a private and blocked him when he tried to get away. A jury might be more sympathetic to that.

All that said, the DA can just be playing a waiting game to see what he can offer just prior to the trial. Your friend would probably be well advised to wait and see what the DA will offer, or force the DA to prove his charges point by point.

That's the problem with the system as it exists. She could beat the living fuck out of him 100 times and have him in ICU with broken bones and the like and they wont charge her for shit. He pushes her out of his way so he can leave the threat behind and she whacks her head against the wall and gets a bump and suddenly it's a federal case.

Unless the DA is willing to offer a very good deal I'd say he should fight it to the bitter end. Also it helps if he has the time, energy and resources to fight it and drag it out for years because aren't judges and DA's elected in the US? If you can drag that shit on long enough you might get a new judge and/or DA to deal with.

I would advise basing his decision solely on the advice of his counsel who are familiar with his case and the nuances of the jurisdiction, both legally, politically, and culturally. That being said, if this was a law school question, I don't think he's really been offered anything worth taking at this point. I would probably roll the dice with a jury.

Personally.. if this ever happened to me, or something like it I would do this:

For 40 years I have obeyed every law (except traffic). If society wants to make me a criminal(for whatever stupid reason I cannot yet fathom until it happens), I would embrace it wholeheartedly. Life is MUCH easier on that side, sadly true. Initial connections are difficult to make for some people, but even if you can't, big city police are so bloody busy, certain crimes will never be investigated unless the victim is important.

After several flair ups where the woman admitted to beating him up three times (slaps, punches, headbutts, etc.), one day he hit back.

Moreover, they gave the alleged "victim" prosecutorial immunity for her acts of violence in exchange for her testimony against him at trial.

Even with such clear law, the DA fought the motion tooth and nail and after four months the judge finally ruled in my friend's favor.

Jesus fuck. If I ever go to jail for this bullshit, after all that shit prison food, possible ass kicking and rape, and exiting with little to no job prospects, revoked gun ownership, Im killing somebody. This is blatant corruption against man.

hahaha, you know what the guys here are going to think: Fuck that woman, Do Not Plead. Justice! Seriously though, its conceding to defeat and potentially permanently ruining his reputation. Fight it to the bitter end. He should be able to find future work and maybe that's going to require moving to a different state or changing his life altogether. Man has been doing this since the Dawn of Time, that's how we colonized the globe after descending from trees and wandering into the violent savannah.

Hopefully there are more insightful replies based on good legal experience/anecdotes.

How can the red pill community help him? I think the most the community can do Is learn from his mistakes which he made plenty. Don't get serious with a woman attorney especially one that's crazy enough to do all the prior stuff. Your friend has made some bad choices here and the consequences are very real and severe. Hopefully the community can learn what not to do. Be careful what women your with. Take it seriously or pay the cost. I'm paying the cost for my poor choice in women. And many men are. It's no joke a bad woman can have you fired, imprisoned, loss of property and wage garnishments all very real consequences.

He should plead guilty and get on with his life.

If I were him, I'd plead guilty, and then make plans to live my life out in a foreign country. Corporate America is so fucked, his odds of ever getting a good job are completely gone here, regardless of being convicted or not.

He screwed when he didn't take the original plea deal. The prosecution has him nailed down, with his admission of guilt.

Settle the case and get the fuck out. He can still live a happy life in a country that respects the patriarchy.

Rule 1 Never hit a woman. Rule 1 corollary If she hits you, you dump her right then and there. If she prevents you from leaving, you call the police and file kidnapping charges.

I have found that even the threat of calling the police gets involved most women back down immediately. Worked for me on two separate occasions. Cops don't give a fuck, they have seen too much bullshit to be white knights. If you the guy are calling the police to handle this, you are actively showing restraint and trying to be the good citizen. The cops will break things up and you go about your day. If there is enough evidence of a crime they will arrest the offending party. Assault is assault and preventing someone from leaving is kidnapping. If she's lying about you assaulting her, then why did the he call the cops will be their response.

He's lawyer he should have known better.
