I don't think it's veganism itself that people have an issue with, I think it's other things that are associated with that to that person.
For me, for example, I have yet to run into a non-militant vegan that doesn't try to "convert" you to veganism "for your own good".
Personally, I don't care what you eat so long as I'm not involved/forced to listen/participate.

There’s some drawbacks. I find there’s less drawbacks for me than when I was eating a normal diet. I have a history of heart disease in my family and had a heart attack at work a few years ago. So even though there’s drawbacks to full raw, I still prefer. Dunno if I’ll stay like that forever but I’ll prolly be vegan forever just because I feel so much better on it.
