Should I text her before the date?

nah just text her the night before the date/morning of with a confirmation text. something basic like “hey we still on for tomorrow at 7?” then when she confirms just say “great, looking forward to it”.

you don’t need to text, it sounds like you spent enough time together and the interest is there. especially since you don’t have anything specific that you want to talk about. you’ll just be texting to text and it’ll be kinda boring.

EDIT: I’ll add that this assumes you’ve already specified time and place for Thursday. If you haven’t done that yet, do that today. Anything like “Hey so i’ve been wanting to check out XYZ bar/i know this really cool spot to grab a bite to eat, how’s 7:30 on Thursday sound?” Then once she agrees you just say “awesome sounds good”, then text morning of on Thursday.

Personally, I won’t go out on dates with guys who don’t follow up a few times. I feel like a lot of girls are also the same way. 1.) We need to plan out getting ready and the longer the heads up, the better. 2.) it shows you care about our time, and just aren’t assuming our plans are still on, love the reassurance that you’re still thinking about the loose plans we made.

I disagree I would saw maybe a couple days before send a reminder or something. Girls forget or if you don't follow up sometimes will just change their minds.

This is better than “are we still on” or something like that. A confident dude just assumes she’s excited for the date too unless she’s shown otherwise.

Also realize if you don’t have a chance to build up a lot or report with women when you get a number, they are flaky so If you don’t hear back just don’t show up to the date and don’t feel bad. Just a numbers game dog

Every girl is different about how much to text and it just takes trial and error until you figure out a way to tell what type of girl she is.

For me, I try to have small banter with them on text. See how they respond and if they are asking me follow up questions to see if they’re interested. But I try to make it short and I usually will quickly ask them out on a date. I’ll plan the whole thing out and get feedback from them until it’s fully confirmed. I’ll then just follow up with something like asking how their day has been going to get some other convo running, and I let them set the pace from there.

If I’m getting shorter replies, not as many questions asked, and they’re taking hours to reply consistently, I’ll shoot them with a quick joke to whatever they said and then another text with something like “I’ll see you on Thursday though, hope you have a good rest of your day!” But you also gotta somewhat match their reply times too. If it’s taking them 1-2 hours to reply, then try to match it and not instantly reply.

Sometimes depending on how far out the date is(like say we had to schedule it like 5-6 days out which is a lot) I might specifically leave out a not as important piece of the planning to text them about halfway through that time like “hey also I should have mentioned that I can come pick you up from your place! Would you want a ride?” And see how they respond to that. If it’s still closed off I exit the convo immediately and tell them I’ll see them on that date and I’m excited to see them yada yada.

But just like I said, just let them set the tone of how much to text and how quickly to reply.

I’d say text her today or right now it’s about establishing expectations you don’t have to talk to her 24/7 til you meet up but you still wanna keep the connection and continue to build rapport till the date. If you leave it til the day off you’re likely gonna get flacked on. But if you don’t know what to say to keep the convo going and controlling the convo just do what chips_and_hummus said. For I’d normally just text like once a day til the day of otherwise she’ll flake on you unless she really really really like you
