You noticed an opportunity, and that's a great start. I think if you just make an effort to say anything, even if it's not the exact right thing, would be a move in the right direction.

Hey, man, I blew it the other day too. Said something to a girl at Starbucks randomly, just for practice, but I opened her from the side and it wasn't until she was leaving that I realized how gorgeous she was. She was totally interested, too - I should have continued the interaction, but I wasn't actually prepared (I didn't feel "on") and I let her leave; I think she was actually disappointed. I should have just introduced myself or said something else random. Even if it wasn't perfect, it would have been better than nothing. Oh well - lesson learned! No reason to get myself down over it. The next one will go better.

Often, you learn more from your failures from your successes - and learning is a win to me. This was a teaching experience. Embrace it and keep on gaming!

look for the positives out of every past situation: you will now be better prepared the next time something like this happens, and you also were attractive enough to even get approached. learn from past failures!
