There is a study that says there might not be negative effect but the positive effects are minute and short lived Our findings also support the hypothesis that CSREs have no major short-term impact among adolescents, with a small effect for girls only. This study underscores two points of discussion: 1) the importance of using caution when arguing that CSREs are detrimental to psychological well-being and 2) the importance of not being too confident that CSREs are harmless, especially for adoles…

I have empathy, I cried when I read post about lonely women or women struggling in sex work. I cried when I saw the deaf girl getting bullied and hating herself in that anime movie. I understand these men here lack empathy and it sickens me but we must not perpetuate apathy as apathy is a sin.

So we cannot be sad over the things we cannot control. Hey man my family was killed by volcanoes but I toughed up and took it like man, in fact I am happy the volcanoe killed my family it makes me stronger.

What I think makes me a catch is my empathy and compassion. I get happy and excited when I see other people or animals get happy and excited. I especially feel happy when I make others happy. I genuinely love helping and loving people. I also find many things interesting from philosophy, science, world building, video games, books, and drawing. I am relationship oriented person. Wrong? To me you are coming from a normie philosophical approach which is like discount philosophy you find in a broken down thrift shop that is broken itself with many holes and broken pieces. Instead the correct question is how will casual sex as a social norm affect commitment culture and people who are raised to want commitment, should casual sex as norm even exist if people are already happy with romantic/commitment culture, does casual sex actually have meaningful advantages over romance i…

No it's not that women want stability and emotional safety of long term partner it's that romantics want those things. I admit women would identity with that political identity but as a man I would say I strongly identify with that identity than most women I see online. The gender war has blinded us to the real war which is the romantic war. I personally believe romance has become political in our culture and us romantics must unite and resolve our differences.

Yeah this is really good news actually, it so cool in our hypersexual society we are seeing less sexual activity which again is based. This could show how hedonism isn't compatible with human psychology and that we earn for something meaningful dare I say humans are eudaimonic rather than hedonistic. The decoupling of sex from romance has negative consequences. By alienating sex from relationship you are alienating pleasure from self in my opinion. In my opinion how humans enjoy pleasure has to …

I am really scared about this scenerio actually happening it's big fear I actually have. The toxicity between men and women I hear from online and theories I read make me believe women and men are only hear to have sex with eachother and that a relationship between the sexes are not possible. I apologize if I came across like that mate I didn't mean to. I just got frustrated because you don't seem to be understanding what I mean. I meant I want people who want relationships to be happy. I do think you are being unfair here mate. Some people don't experience the affection and commitment that other people get. I don't see a problem with voicing their discomforts to others. If you don't want to indulge them then don't mate. You don't owe us anything nor do we owe you anything.

Bro you are taking things too seriously ok what about a PS5 instead of bread. I need enough people to be happy for me to be happy you will never understand people like me I am not only concerned for myself I care about others. I reject individualism as philosophy. I only took from a Buddhist story here. You cannot sit here and say you can enjoy your wealth while everyone suffers. No I don't need everyone to be in relationships but I want people to be happy. But I am more concerned about being pressure to conform to the specific dating culture in western nations.

And romantic culture changes so it's very incorrect to claim your way is the only correct and eternal way of finding love. I only judge people who enforce their romantic culture onto oth…

/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 02:09 AM

As a man I am more depressed than angry about this whole situation but reality internalizing and externalizing are problematic. Reality is a relationship between external world and internal world. We cannot just blame one or another. Is it the dolphins fault for living in desert or the desert fault for existing. Neither the circumstance of that dolphin is the problem.

May I offer my perspective on this matter. I get depressed knowing if a women I was with had casual partners or seperated sex from romance. I cannot be with a women who contradicts the culture I grew up with or triggers my paranoia. I think society makes the pleasure aspect of sex more important than connection and bonding with through sex. I am not jealous of men who have sex with her quickly I am scared that she doesn't value sex the same way as I do.

Can we just all make this simple standards are not same thing as compatibility or attraction. You cannot change compatibility or attraction people need to understand this. I have been rejected by 7 girls in my life and I just have to accept that and move on. I rather be single than be in a relationship with a women who doesn't share my values and doesn't meet my standards. As a man I grew up enjoying romance in media particularly in cartoons, fiction books, and some movies. Mind you I wasn't obsessed with Hollywood or Disney but rather stuff like Studio Ghibli. I want something like that for myself. 1 the fact we call it a dating market is the problem 2 I cannot find a women who interests me because I don't meet new people and I don't know how in the city I am in 3 I am working on myself by enjoying my hobbies like world building

I want to add nuance a little bit and say it's also the men's responsibility to not decieve women for sex. Some men like having sex with women early on for intimacy and bonding, wait men can see sex as more than pleasure shocking I know. If the men cares about his partners comfort over pleasure and cares about his partners pleaser as well throughout relationship that seems like a green flag. I noticed we only look at red flags but don't really talk about green flags. But also traits are not only…

Men are not a unified collective. Even if men did create society it wasn't all man. In fact the top men created society on the labor of other men. The top men not only mistreated the bottom men but actively punished them. Like in China they would sever a man's hand if the cart they build was not met expectation.

Well said friend, you said it perfectly. I like the culture around biological fatherhood it makes me feel closer to wife. /r/PurplePillDebate23/05/22 08:56 PM
1

Sure but they still bring pleasure of a different kind. A good burger isn't pleasurable as a candy but they both bring pleasure. Plus hugging and cuddling releases dopamine maybe not as much as sex but it still does. Also in animal kingdom animals also have sex for bonding reasons other than pleasure. Some animals don't even have sex for pleasure.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/22 08:44 PM
1

By your logic I could argue that cuddling and hugging aren't expressions of love. I soley do those things for pleasure alone. Buying flowers for someone isn't expression of love because I buy stuff for people to show off my wealth.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/22 08:19 PM

Why do you say it's not an expression of love?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/22 07:42 PM

I think men are insecure of women beating them in games because video games are structured for men so when a women beats them they feel as if all the hard work they put into something they worked passionately for feels wasted. This is not excuse for us to be hostile and lash but we ought to communicate our insecurities in healthy manner. I hope you understand where we come from.

I say psychology has liberal bias in that it follows liberal understanding of problem. My main issue it sort of discounts soical and economic reasons for mental illness and tends to blame chemical imbalances or negative thought patterns. But in my opinion negative thought patterns and chemical imbalances could be contributed to harmful cultural norms that exist in society or poor economic conditions. If we want to help people therapy is not enough we need to foster healthier environment.

I would reflect on socieconomic and culture factors that contribute to does behaviors. Behaviors are more than genes and genes are more complicated than once thought. We have epigenetics to thank for. But also examine what are social and cultural factors that influence toxic behaviors.

You have the right to have insecurities and expressing your insecurities. I know how insecurities can be challenging and difficult to manage from experience. My advice is to reflect where your insecurities come from and what your insecurities are telling you. Just listen to your insecurities and do what they tell you. For example if your insecurity says you are bad at math then practice doing math problems and have realistic expectations of your results. And if you have to get help. To me I need…
