African Americans were disadvantaged because of generational disadvantages. However, every girl born has a male parent, so the comparison between sexism and racism is at best wrong and probably offensive to many.

I have a serious problems with these primarily white SJW's comparing the plight of privileged women to that of black people in America past or present. Boomer whites knew darn well how deep that difference was because they saw how pervasive nature of racism in America. Getting white women acceptance for role shifting from white men was a cake walk compared to eliciting compassion for other racial groups whom for hundreds of years been deemed so sub human that even socializing with them could lead to social isolation for whites.

What she wrote disgusting and insensitive. I don't like PC games but feminists co-opting other peoples struggles has gone on for far too long from rape victims (when they aren't one) to claiming blacks got the right to vote first despite Jim Crow making that suffrage far from universal. These women are shameless and at least I'm going to call them on it. They steal the label of oppression to run guilt trips on men, and make social justice into a joke thus hurting those who really need it. These frauds need to be held accountable.

My comment:

When will (white) women stop comparing their suffering to that of blacks in America who whites outright hated. White women were kept women that white men supported form birth till death. They love their women and have demonstrated time and again a willingness to sacrifice for them. Black people are another race. They were brutally enslaved by whites. Neither white men nor women cared for blacks. In fact they fought to the death for the right to keep them as property in the bloodiest war this nation has ever seen.

The disrespect for the minority experience from white feminists today is unbelievable. Earlier generations of whites knew better but these young people seem to think if someone on the planet tells them 'NO' they qualify as an oppressed people. Enough with the games. Enough with privileged whites ruining social justice for the people who need it. The fact you want an excuse to make white men feel guilty doesn't mean you get to bastardize the hard one moral high ground that people literally died for.

Let me clear things up for you. White women are not oppressed. They are not oppressed in tech and they are not oppressed in America. We do have a large number of spoiled young women who spend to much time playing social justice warrior on Tumblr who convinced themselves of a lie but there is no doubt we are dealing with conniving over privileged women using the power of social justice for their personal gain. It's disgusting and it needs to stop.

I think calling out white women in the same way that white SJW have been calling out white men is exactly what's needed to remind them of their place. These are not allies of minorities, they are exploiters of the social justice causes created to serve them. There is a difference between helping the disadvantaged and underprivileged (Poor of all colors) and serving the needs of those with advanced degrees who gets mad they didn't get every promotion or job they ever went for. We have struggling people in America who need help but these spoiled privileged brats suck up all the compassion for the pettiest of causes.

Here, she goes too far. Perhaps she wants men to take over that job too... but we can't. Wonderful as we are, giving birth is not yet one of our capabilities.

Someone has to do it, though. And it has to be a woman.

Because they are the ones to do this essential job, they get support, deference, resources... there are lots of unpleasant and dangerous tasks they are not expected to do... but it doesn't extend to this one. Doing that would undermine the whole women-are-special sentiment that it all depends on.

I hear about this "unspoken judgement" passed on women who don't have children a lot.....who exactly is passing this judgment that's holding the women down?

My parents started bugging me about settling down and giving them grandkids the second I graduated high school....my old college roommate is the only bachelor left from our old group and the poor boy's family and half his church won't stop bugging him about how much longer he's gonna wait to start a family.

On the flipside, I've met quite a few hiring managers who tend to be very biased towards people with kids or newlyweds.....they'd favor a childless workaholic in a heartbeat over a family gal, just like they'd favor a single workaholic dude who can travel over some guy immersed in little league games and family vacations.

I think if I wad a "woman in tech" I'd start by loudly denouncing hard line feminists like Watson, Sarkeesian and Richard who have made it dangerous for men to even meet and talk about tech issues.

Thanks to them, women now have to climb mount everest just to get to the starting line with men. Add to this the fact that men are so severely discriminated against in education that they have to self-educate and yes, I think you have a two tier system: men who expect nothing, start from nothing and claim only what they earn fairly - and women demanding preferential treatment while presenting a lethal walking time bomb on a hair trigger to anyone who includes them in their work.

Bullshit. I'm an app developer and I don't have a fucking support structure. I get mixed messages, and multiple conflicting priorities, and it's bloody hard to create products. However, I'm not writing a blog to whine about how hard I have it and how its just not fair why I'm not Mark Zuckerberg. Either I get the fuck on with it or I don't get anything.

In theory, all of this exists today. I say in theory, because if they actually existed, why would we be still left wondering why women aren't more innovative wealth-creators a la Mark, Steve, Jeff, and Elon?

It's not just in theory, all the rights are there. Women are free to do what they want to do. Starting a business is a huge risk no matter what the sector, and to be as successful as any of those people takes a whole different level of luck. I'm in 'tech' and I have started businesses, but do I expect to be the next Facebook or Microsoft? No, obviously not.

It's no wonder that 'women' aren't super successful tech 'wealth-creators', because hardly anyone is, no matter their gender.

Yet again we see a woman who is not content with being an equal to most men in society, she must be equal to the super special ones at the top of the tree. And because she's a woman, everything must change around her to enable this to be so.

Why? Women don't create children on their own. Fathers are important and so are men's feelings on the matter of having children. If we could do it too, I'm sure some of us would carry a baby for 9 months.

Meanwhile, it is still socially acceptable for men to focus wholeheartedly on their career.

As it is for women. It is not, however, socially acceptable for a man to stay at home and look after the children.

Our expectation is for women to make the choice to innovate and create wealth, but everywhere women look from media to social practices and trends, all we see and hear that true happiness lies in finding a man and making babies.

Perhaps it does, did you consider that? Just because you're fixated on career and skipping as many levels as possible on the career ladder just because you have a vagina, doesn't mean everyone should be. Happiness is doing what makes you happy, go figure.

But it still takes an inordinate amount of self-confidence and wherewithal to stick around.

Education: Continuing to prioritize the importance of pursuing a major in engineering.

It's not important. Plenty of people do engineering because they want to. Just because they don't have the private parts you think they should doesn't mean there's a problem. It's their choice. Women are allowed to do engineering, this means there is no problem when it comes to entry, and if they decide to pursue other paths then it is up to them.

Pricing: Offering scholarships or financial assistance to those who are particularly interested in pursuing degrees and careers within the industry. And funding female founders who want to launch tech companies.

No. I'm a man, and I don't have any fucking money either to start companies. Why should a woman get funded just because she's a woman?

If they can't do it on their own merit, they don't deserve to be there. Same goes for men.

Case studies: Showcasing role models and success stories through mainstream media channels.

Who will, undoubtedly, be female. And why? No male role models around?

Would you consider yourself a good role model? When you try and cheat your way up the chain of business?

The point of this post isn't to place blame, to single out anyone, or come up with excuses.

If you want to help and truly believe in the cause of having women in tech then educate, encourage and empower every day!

It's not a cause! To need a cause there needs to first be a problem. There is no problem.
