More seriously: women in Eastern Europe are treated pretty abhorrently, as are the men. From what I know, the Muslim communities are the worst because they practice more orthodox/conservative/fundamentalist versions of the faith there than they typically do in the West.

If anything, some religious traditions (various strains of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, for example) are the definition of Patriarchy. They are also the only examples of Patriarchy in the Western world today, friends. Religion can be good - but it can also be very, very bad.

They're bolsheviks. Hopefully none of their kind ever get in power again. Bolsheviks slaughtered a good twenty million Christians just for being Christians. They burned all the little one room churches, stole their farms, burned the crops and starved them to death. These gals would love to see that happen again and would clearly participate.
