Feminism is just about female equality until you challenge patriarchy theory. Then you're not a real feminist.

To be a feminist you need to accept patriarchy theory and a host of other feminist tenets. Otherwise you will be called a sexist and ostracized by the community. My theory is that most MRAs started off as feminists but changed when they realized how anti-intellectual feminism is.

The false equivalency is killing me. The first one was noticed was the person saying being a feminist just means you think women should be equal to men. Ok, then I'm a feminist (assuming they mean equal rights and not outcomes), except that's not what it means in practice at all. They frame the debate such that you either agree with their batshit insanity (no matter what it is) or you think women are worth less than men. The second one I noticed was when they mention that the term feminist just corresponds to gender awareness. Ok, so if I'm not a feminist that means I'm ignorant and need to be taught all about gender issues, rather than the fact that I might be very well informed on the issues and come to a different conclusion than feminists.

It's a start. But it still seems to be more concerned with how to market feminism than to ask what it is about feminism that is causing women to resist the label. It still starts from the premise that feminism is good and wonderful, and that resistance to it must be a problem of brand, rather than substance. I don't hear any introspection about it is about feminism that turns people off, and if they are right to be turned off, and if so; what is to be done about it?
