Yeah i agree, there is a double standard when it comes to this. I certainly could not enter/use the women's restroom with out being labeled a creep, pervert, pedophile, you name it. And that does aggravate the ever loving shit out me. Though honestly it doesn't really bother me if a woman enters the men's room to use a stall. When you have to go you have to go. I might make a fuss if a group of women suddenly commandeered the men's room and were denying men the use of the restroom just so they could have their privacy.

I was at a rock show a few months back and there was a bouncer at the entrance of the men's room to keep women out. The venue was afraid women would get raped or something. I suppose you could tell the management that women are going to get raped in the men's room if they keep this up since, you know, they're going to be around drunk people and in private (stall).

I work in a bar and see this happen way too often. It infuriates me. Not because I'm an asshole who doesn't want these girls to go to the restroom in a timely manner -- but because of your stance exactly. What if the men's line was larger than the women's, and I just strolled into the bathroom and decided to use theirs? Like you said, there would be a whole new world of shit.

I remember before I started working at the bar, I was there for Mardi Gras. I stood in line for the bathroom nearly 20 minutes it felt like. There was one more guy in front of me, and this girl poked her head in and asked if she could use the bathroom real quick. The guy said sure, and I promptly cut right in front and told her no, and went into the stall instead. When I came back out, she called me a dick. I tend responded -- rather sternly, I'll admit -- "I may be, but I also HAVE a dick, and this is the men's room. I waited in line, you can too."

It irritates me that women expect special treatment in situations like these, but then get all up in arms when they think men are getting special treatment. Fight for equality, not superiority.

I would like to share a similar story I had:

I was at a campus bar enjoying some time with my buddies in my program, and due to a diet heavily supplemented by protein shakes, nature will often call at inopportune times. This was one of those times.

There's a line out the door to the women's room and guys had to wait for a few moments to either use the urinal or the lone stall. I proudly announce that nature was calling and I'd be appropriating the stall, to which my fellow bathroom users commended me for my bravery. My time spent making wasn't terribly long, but not two seconds after I start someone announces through the partition that the women waiting to use their restroom are getting pretty aggravated, and want to use the men's stall - and are aware that somebody is currently occupying it for the duration.

Over the span of not two minutes men coming in are commenting with some concern that the women's line is getting increasingly hostile. They tell me, "bro, whoever you are, you're a dead man."

This struck me as off-putting for two reasons:

It's not your fucking bathroom, I have the right to drop the Browns off at the Super Bowl in a space designated for me to do so.
As OP pointed out, I wouldn't exactly be throwing a fit to get into their bathroom to use one of their stalls if the men's was in use, else my face would experience some quality time with the pavement.

But I did have a very bro moment that did fortify my faith in mankind. I figured I should probably wait a while at the sink before leaving so they wouldn't know who it was in the stall. These women were becoming increasingly aggro and I did not want to deal with it, plus pooping at a bar is kind of gross and embarrassing. It was then that someone said, "hey guy, exit with me and my friend, they won't know who did it then." All of us were met with glares upon our exit, but with a lack of certainty as to who the culprit was.

But yeah that shit pisses me off.

I hate that shit so much. I have confronted broads about this at festivals/gigs... There is invariably a white knight present to ask 'what's the big deal?'. So I just piss against a wall (or whatever's handy), if the event staff won't provide a private place drain the lizard, then they can expect to clean up piss from everywhere else.

Well, usually the women's room has bigger lines. At a concert recently with a bunch of little girls in attendance, some mothers commandeered the men's room because the little girls had to go. I stood back and waited for them to come out. Not their fault. The real solution is more facilities for women since nature has ordained that they take longer.

....I've used the men's bathroom if the women's is full. If there's 2 bathrooms (each individual rooms with 1 toilet, 1 sink) and there is a line a million miles long for the women's room and none for the men's, I don't really see the issue. I wouldn't mind a guy ducking into the women's in a situation like this if the lines were reversed.... not that they ever are. I have never, not once, seen a men's bathroom with a shorter line than the women's.

but if it's loads of stalls and urinals, that's a bit sketchier. sounds like this woman was just being a jerk.

Not trying to troll, just looking for honest input, of course I could have left out the looks thing, but I feel like that can greatly impact a situation like this one. She was a middle aged women and she was entitled to skip both lines so she just picked the men's room stall.
