Did you guys not read the article? This is his 14 year old daughter with her 26 year old "boyfriend". His excuse is that if he did not allow her to have sex with her boyfriend she threatened to run away. I say he is not doing his job as a father. He should have grounded his daughter for making the threat and told the 26 year old to get lost or call the police on him.

Sounds bad, but like onetimeuser said, her "boyfriend" was 26. Letting your 14 year old daughter have sex with a 26 year old is in no way okay.

Pull your shit together guys, every post in this thread is either angry at the system, or dismissing blame. This is not "feminism in action." This is a creative use of the law to punish bad parenting. No one in their right mind would claim

Fact is, he should have put his foot down and put the 26 year old in his place, told him to leave his daughter alone and any further contact would involve the police. The male in this situation was WAY out of line.

Then, he should have grounded the hell out of his daughter, and gotten therapists and other professionals involved to help her move away from these bad life decisions.

I hate it when parents use the "they'll just go somewhere unsafe" excuse. Fucking control your kids, you're a parent and that's your job.

Prevent your kids from having sex, you're an oppressive father who isn't keeping with the times, and spreads slut-shaming under his patriarchal rule. Allow your kids to have sex, you're irresponsible and probably pimping them. Refuse to decide one way or another, you're not doing your job as a parent, are a deadbeat, and should be forced to give money to their mother or be sent to jail.

You see, there is no winning in a feminist state. You can decide not to have kids, and then be shamed for not manning up, but at least there is no law that can screw you over for this decision. Yet.
