I'm not really sure what else to say about my situation other than the title, but I can provide some examples.

I've wanted to try healthy eating (including but not limited to a ketogenic diet) for a long time. My mother will buy things outside of the diet like candy, cake and carb-heavy snacks while preparing carb-heavy (and otherwise unhealthy) meals. Then try to make me feel guilty if I refuse them because she put money/time into it. She'll actively make things for me that she knows I don't want to eat and then talk at me and constantly berate my decision until I eat it or I stand my ground, create friction and make things bad for my brother and father.

She'll often have a go at me for going for a run or waking up early, she'll complain I don't go out enough or that I go out too much (depends on which I did that day) and she'll tell me I need to relax and play video games "because I enjoyed them when I was a kid". She's always trying to maximise comfort and pleasure while minimising effort, and she puts that attitude on me and thinks I'm autistic for not wanting that too.

She see's no value in investments or making my own business with my Father in order for both of my parents to retire, and she constantly shits on my Father for it. She told me she'd get a loan for me so I don't have to do part time work in the summer so I can lounge around doing nothing.

She found forms I had about mental health and she threw them away and had a 3 hour argument with me about it. I figured that shit out myself (over multiple years) instead. Separate issue, wont go into it here.

She even encourages regular heavy drinking. I'm sure that in part it's to keep her from realising her own mistakes - she's heavily overweight, has no social life and smokes often. "I've always been like this and I'm still alive so it's not bad for me".

It's a constant, 24/7 barrage of negativity, questioning and there are a host of other issues too like gaslighting and talking behind people's backs to ruin their image so nobody helps each other in this house. I don't give a flying fuck about her opinion but I feel like it's so much unnecessary stress and having an environment that's so against what I'm doing isn't exactly conductive to productivity.

Now I genuinely think it would do me a lot of good to cut her out of my life. I just feel like it must be unhealthy on some psychological level to cut your birth-mother from your life, and then have to deal with not seeing the rest of your family too. I'll be starting a new job in two months making $31k (with a pay rise to $79.5k if I do well for 3 years and graduate university). I could easily move out and make things 1000x easier for myself.

Tldr; Mother is constantly going against any form of self improvement be it health, financial or even just building good habits and character. Very comfort/pleasure driven and very stupid. Uses psychological games to try to guilt me to live like her.

Should I cut them out or just move out and stay in contact?
