How I feel whenever I see people use the phrase "Schrodinger's Rapist"

The Schrödinger's cat teaches a paradox: It's not that we don't know the state of the cat until we open the box (that's fucking obvious); it's that our logic tells us that the cat is simultaneously dead and alive (quantum superposition), and when we open the box those two states become one, either dead or alive. Of course that's impossible.

The Schrödinger's rapist is a try to sound intellectual, but it's quite stupid. Simply put, you don't know the intentions of a stranger until you come to know him/her. That's a simple uncertainty, not a paradox.

So, the comic is right: People don't get it. But then again this is not something meant to be understood by everyone, it's a very specific and complex field into physics.

Ironically, we can say that the whole thing is a good analogy for feminists: They take something wrong, fabricate some cheap conjectures and present the result as if it explained the real world. Quite funny actually.

Well schrodinger's rapist is not a reductio ad absurdum like his cat essay.

If you accept in principle that some women feel uncomfortable in public due to the percieved threat of violations of their physical boundaries, Whether rational or not, you need to either choose to make concessions in your own behaviour or not to in order to make people feel more comfortable.

I can see why having strangers who do not know you considering you a threat is offensive and I am not endorsing the schrodinger's rapist essay (which took me ages to find). However people are free to do what they please, racists will miss out on everything the people they don't associate with due to race have to offer and those women who do not wish to be approached under any circumstances by a man will have fewer male friends, dates, etc. While societally we rail against racist attitudes and indeed would accept that feeling afraid of being approached by a black man was a symptom of racist and discriminatory attitudes, men are not given the same consideration.
