Dawkin's basic message was one of false equivalence.

Let us use his argument in regards to skepticism. When there are millions of people in the world starving to death why should we worry about the separation of church and state.

I am a metaphysical naturalist and I like Dawkin's writings about religion to some degree and his stuff about biology even more(I am an old bio major) but he is completing missing the point here and his response was fucking stupid.

As a great fan of Richard Dawkins I will say this: I think his comments were unjustified. I am seriously troubled that they should come from him.

As someone who considers themselves to be a feminist (Yes, I'm a guy) I think the call of extreme feminists to boycott Richard Dawkins' books is stupid. Feminism has nothing to do with evolutionary biology. His comment was unfortunate, but not to the point of warranting a boycott. I also think you shouldn't buy Dawkins' books to support him, you should buy his books because you're interested.

As a guy who randomly clicked on a link and found himself in a thread based around men feeling sorry for themselves (that's going to cost me). I'm out of here!

Dawkins' argument is a quite silly. There will always be problems greater than mine and yours. From what I can tell, she only expressed something she didn't like about a situation.
I wouldn't have been so offended by that situation, but that is just me. She is entitled to bitch about a man's advance just as you bitch about money grubbing women.
This entire drama is completely childish.

I doubt Dawkins gives a flying fuck whether feminists boycott him or not. And no one should. They are like poorly acting children throwing tantrums on the floor. The correct response is to ignore them or smack the shit out of them. The worst thing you can do is validate their tantrums.
