JUST SO EVERYONE IS AWARE, although the salvation army does good work in some areas, they are not our friend.

They are anti-pornography, they think abuse is something men do to women, and, oh yes, don't forget their code of conduct for men, and no they do not have a code of conduct for women. They provide several excellent examples of how the Christian right can and will ally with Feminism when it suits them.

During marriage the woman provided services to the man, cleaning the house, washing his clothes and making dinner for him and other things, after kicking him out she does not have to provide those services, she get alimony plus child support and to she keeps the house. Divorce for women is a win-win situation.

This idea that a woman standard of living should not decrease after a divorce is the root of the problem.

I would like to know when and who invented this concept and passed it into law.

Although I think a lot of social phenomenon can be illustrated through organisations such as this (I am NOT in any way a Salvation Army supporter, however) there are no citations at all in that write-up.
