I found this today after witnessing this exchange on my Facebook wall... decided to try find the NUS "rape culture" report mentioned there and stumbled across this instead along the way

I go to an Australian University. I hate the existence of the women's room. I personally know the girl who was last year's women's officer (from high school) and she is, to put it in someone else's words, batshit insane. Her mother is also a/the leading member of the biggest feminist organisation in the state.

I was kind of tempted to apply for the women's officer role this year (as a male) in some kind of protest against the whole system, but when I looked into it I discovered, unsurprisingly, that you have to identify as a female to apply. It's almost worth dressing androgynously for a day to apply, but I decided against it in the end.

This pamphlet has really fueled my annoyance now. I have the urge to do something.

Some baseless claims in there. How does the creation of a men's space directly attack the right of women to autonomously organize away from the the influence of man even if there's an absence of equality? That's a little like saying having men's rooms alongside women's rooms makes women constipated. How can they possibly poop knowing that men poop in the next room? Men can just poop out in the bushes anyway and nobody would care.

That said I would refuse to associate with any of these. If your gender identity is advertised as an important part of your identity and you even form advocacy groups for yourself on the basis of it and discriminate because of it then you are scum and certainly no friend of mine.

This document looks almost exactly the same as a similar publication by the Women's officers of the NUS in the UK.

Therefore, rather than this being a core NUS Australia policy, it's probably only some nonsense written by their man hating division and not an official policy./view.

So...who was it again that said feminists don't claim men are oppressing women?

Who was it that said feminists didn't twist the meaning of patriarchy into meaning men are privileged oppressors?

Who said all of that smokescreen bullshit trying to shift the blame from the hate movement that has caused the suffering of countless men over the decades?

As such men need to get themselves into a political movement which will mobilise more men to change themselves, especially in relation masculinity and the hegemony that patriarchal ideology grants all men.
