All good points, but I would argue a few things:

Besides, he's been paying for this long so why does it matter now? He just wants to get out of paying for his responsibility.

I think the way to look at this is that the judge should be pushing the mother to find the biological father, who skirted his responsibility. The biological father is not just on the hook for back child support, but the guy who has been paying for his child is owed something as well. This judge, in essence, is letting a dead beat dad out of his responsibilities just because another guy stepped in front of the bullet.

It doesn't matter what the mother did because there's a baby here now and we have to put all of our focus on the baby. Somebody has to pay. Don't expect the taxpayers to do it.

Agreed, but there is something more to look at here. The mother was awarded child support under false pretenses. This does nothing to put the responsibility on women to find the biological father, instead of sucking some poor guy into the court system and destroying him financially. The analogy I would draw here is when state prosecution doesn't care whether or not they catch the murderer, but whether or not they can get a conviction (even if it is on an innocent person).

He had the sex so he needs to be a man and be responsible for the outcome.

And the mother must be responsible for finding the biological father, because it is their responsibility together.

I think that deadbeat dads that skirt their legal obligations are despicable. Just as despicable as women who don't care about determining the biological father, just because they have someone who they can sucker into that role using the courts.

EDIT: one last thing, just to rustle some feathers (BTW, I am NOT a republican):

Don't expect the taxpayers to do it.

The democrats sure expect them to.
