Wear a condom, bro. I know it's not great, but better than supporting a kid you never wanted. I refuse to have sex without a condom, because while it doesn't feel quite as nice, the odds of accidental pregnancy are basically nil.

And I don't trust a woman to take her BC pill every day. Not with my fucking life.

Women have a choice. I say allow a man to opt out of support. If she wants to raise it alone on what income she has, then fine. If not, then she has that right, too. It's when a man pledges support then revokes that he still should have to pay.

Fuck, on conception we should have access to a Paternity test and contract.

Translation: Assuming you didn't rape her, she apparently had no choice in the matter to have sex. However, all choices about the next 18 years of your life are now in her hands.

You need to man up and take care of your responsibilities!

Translation: Although women can back out of a pregnancy months after knowledge of the issue without even consulting the father, send the kid away for adoption, or even drop them off in drop-zones, don't you dare think you can escape YOUR responsibilities!

I am going to repost a comment that I posted in the feminism discussion you started:

I am the child of parents who were never married. My mother and father decided (somehow) that my mother would be sole caretaker and he would bear no responsibility for his child. He negotiated this with my mother, who approved. They parted company and to this day, 25 years later, I have not met him or ever spoken to him.

It's a valid, viable choice--but my mother could have sued the bejesus out of him on a moments notice for child support if she ever felt the need--even with the verbal agreement they had come to before my birth but after my conception.

I think what most MRAs want is some kind of legal option of detachment. Not all MRAs want to run around aborting unwanted babies. I am pro-choice and I don't think that is a reasonable alternative under any circumstance such as these.

All we want is some way to have a discussion about this topic, maybe provide people with an vehicle for abdicating from parentage, without having to abort babies wholesale.

They key is there at the end. You need to talk to the woman. You need to work something out--cordially as you can. You have zero legal recourse for abdicating from parental responsibility, but you can make an agreement with the mother to arrange this. I wish I knew how my mother and father worked it out, but I do not and I can't help you. All I know is that they talked it out as adults. My mother was 36 and my father was 32, so I guess one could say they had the maturity of years behind them. This is not to say that a younger couple can't manage this, but you're unlikely to see such behavior from younger folk.

Make no mistake about it - for the majority of men in the west, once you become a father you are immediately delegated to second class citizenship.

Just be sure to keep your eyes lowered (lest some woman accuses you of staring at her), smile and shuffle a lot, and you too can stay out of trouble.

I see the point in all this, but unfortunately what a person does with their body should always be their, and only their choice.

It's a shit deal for us men, but let's face it, this is one area where women can do something we can not do. Make babies.

If you allow a man to control a woman because he has fathered a child with her you do serious damage to her rights as a human being.

On the up-side, in the near future men will be able to get easily reversed vasectomies. This will reduce the issue of having a child on accident much more rare.
