I disagree with her "Black male misdirected rage" thing, but you guys may appreciate this:

The United Nations, western women’s organizations and the Haitian government must immediately provide women in Haiti with the funding that they need to build domestic violence and rape crisis centers. Stop dividing Black families by distributing solely to women, which only exaggerates male resentment and frustration in Haiti. Provide both women and men with job training programs that would allow for self-sufficiency as opposed to continued dependency on whites. Lastly, admit that the issue of racial integration might still need addressing on an international level, and then find a way to address it!

Being raped by a blackman did not fit into her ideology. To justify a lifetime of "faith" in her secular religion, she has to justify the nonsequitor between her experience, and her faith. Can you blame her? She's invested a lifetime in cultivating a belief system fed to her by a culture and educational estabishment that doesn't comport with her own experience.

I love the vague notion of the white patriarchy. Think about the tribes in Africa that are literally hacking each other up with machetes, including going into houses to chop up women and children. Or the Islam practiced in the isolated regions of Pakistan or the Pashtun region of Afganistan, where a girl was buried alive for talking with a boy. The middle-class white female priviledge breeds a strange victim mentality - they are the most privileged people on the face of the earth.

There's nothing in the piece that suggests to me she wasn't raped. I would guess she was.

In the last paragraph, she appears to ascribe motives to her rapist that he raped her because he thought women were oppressing him. Basically, then trying to convince him that he's wrong.

Is this based on a simplistic generalization that rapists hate women and need to punish them? If so, and even if partially true, its a massive stretch to explain where that hate came from.

Why should her views change just because it happened to her and she had to experience it first hand? She was aware of it happening to other women and was fighting to stop it. It would be hippocritical to suddenly blame it on race simply because instead of being an observer she now has the experience to go with it.

The comments on the article are particularly sickening, using racist terms and advocating violence on liberals (which I happen to be).

So the question to MensRights- it this reddit just an offshoot of the Tea Party movement, or does it actually stand for something?

Title is misleading - if you actually read the article, she doesn't blame the patriarchy. She just accepted it. I don't think it was a rape at all - just a date gone bad; she doesn't seem too traumatized by it.
