They have 3 kids together. When he was working on my house he had told me that she would leave them at home alone when they were on school break, I told him to bring them with him. They adored him. It was so heartwarming to watch them watch their daddy work. So, she calls me one evening after he had left, ranting that she'll say anything to violate him because she'd rather he were in jail so she could leave the kids home alone (all night if she wants) whenever she wants. I tried to rationalize with her. Tried to tell her how much her kids needed their dad.

A couple of weeks later he was back in jail with his ex as the only witness. He wrote me from jail that she was trying to file a retraining order so that he couldn't even write his kids. I wrote a letter to the judge on his behalf. That was 8 months ago. The other day I was phoned by his lawyer and called as an emergency witness to court. He had been released from jail last month and after a day his ex called the police on him, claiming that he had violated the restraining order. He was visiting a friend of his. Turns out she knows someone on the same street. He had no idea. I spent an entire day in court waiting to testify regarding her evil phone call.

I found out today that the judge dismissed the original charge to which she was the only witness, that he violated his dui probation, that he conceded that the ex was a liar and had made threats but that he believed that she was telling the truth THIS time regarding his violating the restraining order. Even though the guy he went to visit was in court as well. With proof of address.

The judge gave him another 270 days. Considering his time served, he should be out in about a month.
