women being victims of historical oppression is so firmly entrenched in people's brains now that when you say that's not the case they look you as if you just said something as ridiculous as the earth is flat, you lose all credibility in their eyes right off the bat.

a big problem is there's lots of little "facts" which while true on the surface are completely misleading as to how history was. Things like women being subservient to husbands, less voting rights, less working opportunity. It takes a sentence to claim and an essay to counter.

Patriarchy theory needs to be dismantled by arguments from the left. All Jordan Peterson is doing is creating an army of 'anti-cultural Marxist, anti-Snowflake' types who are perfect boogeymen for third wave feminism to define itself against and argue that any criticism is just right-wing misogyny.

This clip of Peterson is bad for the cause. He is generally. He lost most credibility he once had awhile ago, and his popularity is probably more harmful than not. I know he helped some young men with his seminars but i doubt the amount of young men he has inspired outweighs the reach and destructive power of “cultural marxism” boogeyman, conspiracy theories, disinformation about history, and message against social engagement. We don’t need to fight conspiracy theory with conspiracy theory.

It is nice that he argues against patriarchy but he is constantly spewing lazy falsehoods and misleading statements. How long did it take him to start lying about “radical leftist” in this video? 1 minute? Less? They are are “against hierarchies” ?, so “ why do anything ?” Read some Marx or Bakunin, or just go to an IWW meeting Peterson. And get that political or class hierarchies are not the same as seniority, hierarchies of skill, specialization, leadership, pay, recognition etc.

We can aim higher, we don’t need to debunk patriarchy theory from a recklessly conservative point of view, just at the moment when the world needs, and lacks, meaningful left wing activism on a mass scale.

Women want to blame everything on patriarchy. Men are bombarded with the constant pressure to be the 'breadwinner' and leader of the family to the point where women won't date men that make less money than them.

This constant pressure to be the 'alpha' in the household is hurting men. Im not sure if there's a name for it when men are expected to be leaders of the family but its certainly not good for mens self esteem.

Women were kept out of work because they wont have sex with guys that make less. If women cant work, more guys get laid. Today, less people get laid than in 1980.
