Correlation isn't causation. Married men are on average doing better than unmarried men simply because it's much easier for a richer and healthier man to find a suitable life partner. The reverse phenomenon happens with women. Pretty sure that the female supremacist media isn't interested in the truth though.

I don't care about studies about self-reported happiness. With this one you don't know which one of the following explains the results:

Women who tend to be innately happier are less likely to get married
Marriage makes women unhappy
Single childless women are more likely to lie about their happiness

The implications on health I think should be taken more seriously. But happiness is a worthless construct for science.

If single men turned out to be the happiest, worldwide programs would have started to make single women equally happen.

Mind you, it doesn't say 'celebatary women'. As women are the ones who can choose who has sex, being single doesn't give women that problem. Which makes me think: does this say anything about age? Are older single women still happier than married women or single men?

It's obvious we live in a society that goes out of its way to support and validate women in whatever choices they make.

Plus, this evidence completely disproves the idea that women are in any way oppressed by society.

A lot of people are mistaking marriages for relationships in general.

Marriage is pretty much hell for both genders. The idea that you need to make a formal commitment to live with each other forever is downright retarded. Relationships make and break.

That being said, there is a problem among single men where they base their happiness on their partners. This is backwards. We should encourage them to be happy with themselves and that their identities are not tied with how much they have intimate relationships with.
