i can't get myself to read the "Twilight" saga books.

That's ok, they're mostly aimed at girls. I haven't read them, I am sure I'd hate them, the writing is apparently not terribly good.

edward culllen, is "simped" over by every teenage girl. and to know that I don't have that makes me hurt. a lot.

He's a fictional vampire character whose weakness is scintillating skin in sunlight and that he doesn't age so he forever looks like a 16y old, I might be getting this wrong, but along those lines. He's a teenage fantasy.

i will never be admired by people no matter how hard i work

I don't mean to pick a fight or anything, but that's nonsense. Of course you can be admired by other people. The question is are doing anything that's worth admiring? Say helping people in need, lending an ear to a friend. Taking responsibility for yourself and others, say.

If you're talking about people lusting after you, yeah, that might not happen, might be outside of your control even, but that's pretty normal, and surprisingly ok.

From what I know of the twilight books you're not missing out by not reading them.

I think a lot of people talk about them because the movies had some serious production value, and toned down the properly fucked elements. If only slightly on points.

Also a lot of the appeal from the twilight books is that characters like edward and jacob are literally supernaturally attractive (at least physically, the whole stalker elements of the story are disturbing and super fucked up) buit also head over heels in love/ completley obssessed with the unremarkably baige main character. Which stephenie meyer does her best to sell as romantic.

But also the books are this weird mormon propaganda, so that's nice.

Here's a little secret: If you crave admiration, you'll only ever fall into the hand of psychopaths and sociopaths who'll sense this and use it against you. They'll flatter you and say all the right words, but only so that they can have their own way with you.

Edward is not 'admired.' He is a (shitty) literary character whose beauty and its effects are exaggerated for literary purposes.

Real admiration is usually silent and you gain it by being a righteous person and/or really good at something. The tricky bit, however, is that you can only become a good/skilful person if you do it for the sake of being good at it and not because you want people to admire you. Being complimented is nice, but it shouldn't be your purpose in life because it will destroy you and your talents. Treat it like a really nice, decadent cake that somebody put in your fridge just for you. It's really every once in a while, but if you were to have it for each and every one of your meals, your health would go down the drain. So be appreciative when people compliment you, but be wary of craving it. It's self-destructive and indicative of low confidence.

But isn't that kinda the reality for the overwhelming majority of people? Most of us will never be "admired" or "popular" like that. It's simply a factor of being average. What's so bad about that? Why would you even have that expectation? Besides, most people that are admired are also veemently hated. You can't be a reference to some people witout being an embarassment for others.

People are still talking about this? That phase ended years ago, beyond a slight resurgence at the start of 2020 it's a fairly 'done' fandom. I think 'every' teenage girl might be a stretch.

Trust me, there are a lot of fictional characters teenagers read and fall in love with. They get over it and they usually learn things about what creepy relationships look like (looking at basically every relationship in Twilight tbh).
