This is my first post ever here on Reddit. 2 months ago my wife told me she was filing for divorce after I confronted her about her lies about her recent after-work whereabouts. We've been married over 10 years & have 2 elementary-age kids together. I'm in my 40s & she's mid-30s. Over the last 2 months I've found out way more than I ever wanted to know about my STBXW, like missing money and multiple affairs, including the one she is still currently having. There's nothing quite like seeing your STBXW flaunting her affair on social media w/ her new boyfriend without even having divorce papers filed, especially since I'm the one staying home w/ the kids while she's out w/ her new boyfriend. As she kept making excuses why she was taking a while to file the papers, I had a "poor me" attitude- that is, until I found this community. To see so many other men be in similar situations & feeling similar emotions & come out on the other side stronger inspired me. I filed myself last week & the look on her face when she found out was worth every penny I spent on my lawyer. I've used many of the lessons I've learned from others here such as working out again & the grey rock method & it feels so good to see at least some light at the end of the tunnel. Each day has its own challenges but I plan on coming back here to help me stay focused during what I expect to be a long drawn-out process. Thanks again everyone!
