Texas passes fetal heart beat bill. In a twist that might make it more men's rights than not enforcement is left to private citizens including I'd suppose biological fathers rather than government officials. It also seems to be civil and not criminal.

Girls just have to be more secretive and not tell the man at all. Or anyone else they can't fully trust. It's Texas, so at least they do have access to pills in private so they can't really be forced to stay pregnant unless they are really kept prisoners by someone. Some girls will die of course. But that's to be expected. And they probably would have died in childbirth anyway. And at the very least they would have been permanently disabled. But being dead is better than being forced to give birth.

Dude, what are you on? Until they figure out how to grow babies in test tubes, the situation can never be equal. Forcing a person to physically carry another human being against their will is sick. Adoption doesn’t take away from the personal sacrifice and medical risk/trauma of growing a child for 9 months and then giving birth.

You can support ‘legal abortion’ for men without condoning this barbaric bill.

I am not sure how I feel about this. I tend to be pro-life, as I do not like the idea of an abortion being used as a form of birth control. Rather, I would strongly prefer that birth control is widely available for free to anyone whom needs it. That being said, I think that there should be more sex education taught in schools. Period. I don’t care about your religious opinion about sex, if you want to not allow abortion, then the trade off is your children must be educated on safe sex practices by someone who isn’t using their religious philosophy to hinder a child from their understanding. I think that somewhere in sex education, should be the instruction of condom use and other forms of birth control. The problem is, kids are stupid. They are ignorant idiots who don’t know what they are doing and whose brain is not fully developed and cannot critically think through their actions. Even though this is the case, I still believe in the maximization of preparedness and that includes proper sex education.

The idea of leaving that to the parents has abdicated the responsibility away from accountability. Too many parents are too embarrassed/lazy/crazy/religious to have the proper conversation and talk with their children. I know too many people who have kids and I know for sure they never had the talk by their own admission. An entire generation of parents who are too embarrassed to do their job as a parent because they don’t want to be the “ball buster” and would prefer to be “friends” with their children. A 40 something year old being friends with at 12-year-old? Get out of here with that nonsense. Proper sex education would have a positive effect on reducing the number of accidental pregnancies. Also, I am of the mindset that more education is a good thing in the void of none.

Are there places in society where abortion should be allowed? Yes. There are. Situations like: brutal rape (actual rape, thx a lot crazy people for making me have to predicate that with having to say it because of your nonsense), if the mother will die (her choice, and yes there are situations where science can determine this, by a SPECIALIZED doctor), the child is stillbirth, or the pregnancy is resulted from incest. Beyond this, I do not see any specific special circumstances in which abortion should be allowed. Also, I question whether or not abortion should be allowed after a certain about of time. Hearing the truth about late term abortions is horrific. If the abortion is to occur it should be done in the beginning with all of the factors being made aware to the person getting it.

In these circumstances, I do not feel that guys should be able to infringe on a rape, UNLESS they were the ones raped by the woman, and then it should be the choice of the male. As it relates to death, I don’t think it’s a men’s rights issue or a male decision to preserve the life of oneself.

There might be one other condition I would be okay with abortion to be allowed, and that is if both parents do not want the child and are willing to surrender parental rights for the newborn to be adopted after birth. If neither parent wants the child, it would have to be a situation where both parents sign legally away the rights and can never rescind that surrender.

I might consider if a father does not want the child and it leaves the woman not wanting to be a single parent, then the abortion if quick enough in the pregnancy, might be allowed. I would prefer that the child be brought to term and adopted out to a family who cannot conceive. I can say that this isn’t a bad thing at all. My father was adopted by my grandparents, never having known his real birth parents. My grandparents love him no differently than they did their 2 children they had. To them, he was/is their son. When we laid my grandparents to rest more than a decade to go, not a single person in the family felt my father and his children weren’t part of the family, we are family and they love us no differently. So it would be hypocritical to say, yeah sure get an abortion if you don’t want the child.

If, however, the woman does not want the child but the father does, she should not be granted an abortion and bring the child to term. Upon this, the father will take sole custody and surrender any ability to gain child support for the mother. Also, if he is seeking to bring the child to term, he should be financially responsible for the medical cost to bring the child to term. The mother would lose any ability to ever have parental rights to the child, and no court should be able to remove or rescind this decision.

I also believe the reverse to be the same. If a man does not want the child, but the woman does. She should forfeit her ability to get child support. She should have to be solely financially responsible for the medical cost to bring the child to term. The father would forfeit the rights of parental over this child forever, and it cannot be reversed by a court.

I don’t like abortion, and in my opinion, it should only be allowed in very specific situations. That being said, we need to increase the knowledge and resources for safe sex education as well as the practice of safe sex. I know it’s a moot point, but why are there only birth control pills for women? If there was a pill, I could take daily that was relatively safe that would allow me to shoot blanks until I stopped, I would gladly take said pill daily. It would have to be proven safe and work correctly with unintended consequences minimized. I would gladly take a pill in conjunction to using a condom every single time I have sex because 1) I don’t have kids/don’t want kids, and 2) I don’t want an STD. If for nothing else, sex education helps lower the risk of STDs.

As for Texas, I think this is a bad move on their part and I disagree with their stance, but as a person whom is not a resident of Texas, I don’t have a say in their state political system. Being in Arizona, I make my voice heard to my Arizona state representatives.
