It is funny how they do male/female comparison for everything except for the experience of toxicity where they only put women's number. I think they didn't get the result they wanted.

Then they will claim that initiative against toxicity against women are needed. It would not surprise me at all if this poster, this entire 'gaming is sexist against women' campaign is led, funded and promoted by gaming companies trying to get more people to play their games for profit. It wouldn't be the first time that feminism has been used to exploit women for the benefit of the private sector.

These campaigns which lasted decades worked wonderfully. Lots of women fell for these campaigns led by the private sector working directly with feminists. These campaigns have since the early 1900s cost the lives of millions of women through diseases caused by smoking. If you can't handle toxicity, you shouldn't play that game. Everyone's toxic to eachother in certain online games, it doesn't just target women. Yeah sure, some guys might get a little bit angrier when a woman kills them in an online shooter game, but they aren't ONLY toxic towards women. Same with women being toxic towards men.

And with the supposed "male dominated environment," most women can choose whether to play or not. It isn't sexism, it's women's choice.

Everyone who plays online video games face toxicity, that includes both men and women, but I think a lot of men are so used to it that they just brush it off and ignore it, or just don't care, cause why let some toxic assholes destroy their gaming experience? So they just DGAF or roast them back or something.

At least that's my point of view.

I'm a woman and a gamer myself, but I stick to offline PS4 gaming cause I prefer to play games by myself, and I prefer story driven games such as Assassins Creed. It's not cause I'm afraid of toxicity that I don't play online games really, I just hate competitive games, and my gaming time is my fun chill time. I don't want the stress that comes with dealing with random strangers, be it men or women, on the internet when I'm playing.

It seems like a lot of feminists are ignoring the very fact that offline gaming or 1P gaming is even an option, and hyperfocus on online gaming. Some of the best games out there are games you don't play online, and have women in the lead or as an option for the lead, like Horizon zero dawn and the two latest AC games did, so it doesn't make sense for feminists to ignore these, unless it's to further their agenda that women are oppressed. Give me a break.

Those numbers are quite good, are not they? Only 8% have personal experience and only 32% seen it...I though it would be like 90% as "I know it" from feminist spaces. But they also included mobile games, where there is not really much to say and I have nearly never said something to some public chat. Communities are quite good and in todays times, official discord servers of said mobile games are moderated.

Also, you will never experience the shit that guys in their teen years had to experience back then, nowadays it is much more mild than it used to do....I had pretty high voice when I was kid, so you can figure what happened when I used voice haha. You take it, you leave it or you mute it...there is other option, it will never change.

I'm a female gamer and I've never experienced what I'd call sexism in the gaming world. Sure, some people are jerks, but their awful no matter your gender. And plenty of those jerks are female.

I also really hate how they said "stop asking for nudes" instead of "don't ask for nudes", thereby assuming all males ask for nudes. Sexist much?

In my experience most gamers I've met are nice people who are just excited to meet another person who likes games. They don't care what gender, ethnicity, nationality or whatever else you are. That being said, most of my interactions with other gamers are at conventions, stores, and on Reddit. Obviously if you're playing a PvP game online tensions are going to get high and people are going to insult and yell at each other. But that comes with the territory. If you dislike it, no one's forcing you to participate.
