A comedy skit but it made me realize why being too nice can be bad

This is incredible.

I was this person too. And then I witnessed someone who did this even MORE than I did…and it made me reflect on myself hard.

Once I was camping with a bunch of friends. Our male friend had put an unopened can of potato on the camping stove, got high and forgot about it. It EXPLODED potato 🥔 everywhere! We all shot up and panicked, many splattered with tiny specs of Idaho mash. And he didn’t say “sorry” once to anyone. Not once. and here I was panicking thinking “I should say sorry on his behalf” and all of the reasons that would be completely wrong thankfully made me not do that.

Our friend joked about it, cleaned up. Someone could have been pelted with a shredded can and that didn’t happen, but I still strongly feel he should have apologized.

But it made me pay close attention of what he/others apologized for.

I don’t apologize as much, and in my head I query, “does this really require an apology? Do I regret this? Did I hurt someone?” and more often than not the answer is NO.

This was a painful watch. Sometimes in situations I want to end quickly I’m too nice.

I’m getting flashbacks to knowing women like this who wouldn’t change and I kept having to watch them get trampled. It’s so painful
