I used to study at a university where women were paired with other female students in a shared room. I realised that my roommate was spreading false rumors about me to the male students. One of my male friend told me the things she was telling other guys about me. Apparently she was telling them that I am unhygenic,I don't shower and stink. None of this was true obviously, but I realised she was jealous because men used to approach me and compliment me right in front of her, ignoring her. I thought this is just her, but then I realised other women were trashing their roommates too. Another woman, who is a friend of mine was talking about her roommate when we were having dinner with our male friends. She said the same things about her roommate, that were told about me, that she doesn't shower and stinks. I've been around her roommate and she doesn't stink at all. A lot of women I met, did the same thing where they tried to create a false image of another woman by implying she is unhygenic or something.

With men, it was different. They usually tried to target the woman's character and imply that she sleeps around, even if everyone knows its not true.
