"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

If it takes this much pain & suffering for someone as wealthy/famous as Johnny Depp to get justice, imagine the amount of struggling the average man goes through in a False Accusation

Still buying into feminist dogma though: "While false sexual assault accusations are rare ( a 2010 US study estimates they account for two to eight per cent of cases)"

[–]DraganTehPro 70 points71 points72 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

The thing is that those 2% to 8% are only CONFIRMED false accusations. Who knows how many more are false and just not confirmed.

[–]mikesteane 30 points31 points32 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

The figure of 2% for confirmed false accusations is the same as the figure of 2% for confirmed convictions. But since false accusations are nearly always allowed to drop (or the victim is not allowed to pursue his claim), it would seem that the rate of false accusations is significantly higher than the rate of rapes.

There is 0 evidence to suggest the rate of false allegations is higher than the rate of rape. Most rapes are reported in anonymous victimization surveys. Why would millions of people lie on a victimization survey? And why would that data be repeated every year running the same survey?

Pushing the the idea that there are more false accusations than rapes cannot be backed up by facts and is a downright foolish thing to say.

Making outlandish claims to discredit rape victims isn't what mens rights is. At all.

Most rapes are reported in anonymous victimization surveys. Why would millions of people lie on a victimization survey?

Because the surveys ask questions like "Have you ever had sex while drunk?" and then chalk a yes answer up as a rape. Or they say have you ever had sex with a guy "who kept asking after you said no?" In some of these surveys, the respondents marked as having been raped didn't recognise themselves as having been.

Question 41e on the NCVS, the most common victimization survey in Canada, is 'have you been the victim of a rape, attempted rape, or sexual attack'?

You're attempts to dismiss it as biased without even knowing what it says you've already made your mind up on what you want to believe and you just tell yourself what you need to to maintain those beliefs. That's not a healthy outlook.

But i suppose what can you expect from the guy that said this

[–]hostergaard 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Aaaaaand what are the rest of the question?

And cute, trying to dig up dirt on your opponent to try and discredit him. Get out of here, your disgusting cancel culture tactics have no power here.

[–]lestratege 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's 3 different crimes lumped into one category. How convenient to push up figures...

[+]EnvironmentalWar4627 -14 points-13 points-12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So you don't believe all the victimization surveys that say men have been raped either?

[–]princelydeeds 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Typical... Always defending the rape liars...

Anonymous Victimization studies...😂

Ask any honest person who works in a medical facility, police officer or university...

Young girls cry rape all the time, they accuse all the time and even when their claims can be refuted by evidence/witnesses there is never any punishment for the false claim....

They even accuse other females of sexual assault... Nothing happens to them, there is no dis-incentive.

"False rape allegations were investigated from 1978 to 1987. A ranking police official notified the investigators whenever a rape charge was declared false and provided records of the case. In the study, 41 percent of the total disposed rape cases were officially declared false."....

False Rape Allegations NCJ Number 191920 Journal Polygraph Volume: 30 Issue: 3 Dated: 2001 Pages: 163-171 Author(s) Eugene J. Kanin Date Published 2001

41% is the number that could be dismissed outright, not the actual number which would be way higher....

My personal belief based on experience, other people with years of experience... 90+ % of women who report rapes are lying...

Most women who get raped don't report it...

[–]hostergaard 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There is a mountain of fucking evidence while your claim rely on completely unsubstantiated surveys that cast a ridiculously wide net in it's definitions where even getting looked at or getting uncomfortable emails are defined as sexual assult. Of course the same old terrible survey produce the same results, it's designed spesifically to make assaults far more common than it is. It's nowhere near what feminists pretends.

Fact is, if we go with what is proven in court alone false allegations are more common. If we consider how vastly more privileged women are in court, how they are exponentially more likely to be believed than men and how rape have the lowest barrier of proof needed for conviction of any crime while proving false accusations are near impossible it becomes abundantly clear that false accusations are exceedingly common.

And that is not considering how when police get more resources, the number that are proven true increase linearly, while proven false increase exponentially.

Why? Because people are assholes and idiots. Go and have a read on FDS (Female dating Strategy) it will blow your mind when you realise it is not a parody, those dipshits actually believe in stuff they are writing there. It's scary as fuck

[–]googitygig -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I actually agree with you here. I haven't seen any evidence to convince me the rates are higher. I'd suspect false accusations happen at a lower rate but that doesn't negate the fact that it's still a problem. It's really difficult to quantify these things though especially using court cases as a barometer because if someone is falsely accused there's often no real point in taking it to court.

I do question the validity of a lot of these surveys though who oftentimes stretch the definition of sexual assault.

Making outlandish claims to discredit rape victims isn't what mens rights is. At all.

Correct.

[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 33 points34 points35 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is a copy-paste of another of my comments... Just to give a perspective of actual depth of false. allegations.

2-10% figure comes from cases which are proven false in court.

Considering that courts have a pretty high standard of proof, its safe to assume that they are actually false.

In contrast, only about 10-12% rape cases are proven true (convicted) in court.

Majority of cases (80-85%) never meet the legal criteria required for proving true or false definitively.. They can go either ways..

2% false cases doesn't mean the rest 98% are true... It only means almost 90% are unprovable either as true or false.

This does not include all reported cases, it includes only the cases charged by police.. A lot of times, police withdraws the case if nothing is found, or if the victim retracts or admits to lying. Those cases aren't included in the 2% stats..

Then there are such cases like.. slandering, spreading rumours, social media vitriol, etc... Which are not even reported. Let alone be included in any statistics.

The last one is equivalent of ''silent rapes' which feminist claim form the 95% of rape cases. (But victim never reports)...

If you go by that last logic, there is enough reason to believe that 95% of false allegations aren't reported either. And the victim (accused person in this case) often suffers in silence. (Same as silent rape victims)...

The very fact that feminists and society downplays such a serious issue is the evidence on where they stand on 'gender equality'...

[–]Dwaynedibley24601 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

EIGHT PERCENT IS HUGE!

[–]asura227 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I refuse to acknowledge any so-called stats that support widespread mistreatment of women. For years, we have been told that one in five women will be raped at college. However, the methodology that arrived at that conclusion has been debunked. I dont want to mention the name of the guy who did thhe debunking because hes not perfect and will not allow some opportunistic female supremacist to use his mistakes in an attempt to detract from the main point.

That point is the 1 in 5 statistic of women in college in the U.S. being raped is a lie created by cherry picking data. This lie is easily disproven with census data and a little math. So i feel the same way about this 2~8% figure which in my opinion only exists to support the idea that false rape accusation is an overblown issue. "Innocent until proven guilty" is one of the most important concepts that separates the U.S. from other countries. To abandon that because RHEEEEsons is both dangerous and irresponsible.

Wait, it wasn’t already his right to sue?

[–]AzLibDem 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The accuser tried to claim that his lawsuit was an attempt to restrict her freedom of speech. The British Columbia Supreme Court disagreed.

[–]TendieDinner777 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What about HIS freedom of speech, that he’s innocent?

[–]AzLibDem 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly.

[–]newguy2019a 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Great news.

[+]EnvironmentalWar4627 -14 points-13 points-12 points 4 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Is there any evidence that this was a false allegation? Or is it just as possible this woman is being sued for telling the truth?

[–]googitygig 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"A subsequent investigation determined in 2016 that this accusation was unfounded and that the student and Galloway had a consensual relationship".

I'm guessing you didn't even read the article?

[–]princelydeeds 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Let's hold out all hope that this liar is telling the truth... Pitiful.... 😒

[–]EnvironmentalWar4627 -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Is there proof she is a liar. Or is this a guilty until proven innocent type scenario?

[–]SpookeyClown 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, there was a 4 month investigation.
