9/10 of posts from women, detailing something their husband did (no matter the severity), result in waves of comments calling for the OP to divorce/leave their male partner.

Conversely, any situation where a man posts something about a woman in their life, it’s most likely to be met with “that behaviour indicates that there’s something underneath the surface, you need to be more understanding and let your wife/girlfriend have a chance to open up to you more, she probably feels that she can’t tell you the real reason for her behaviour” or “that’s not so bad, I know a girl whose husband was worse” 🙄

At least a lot of the other anti-male subs are more overt about it.

The amount of absolutely disgusting sexist remarks I’ve heard women make about men is way more common and worse than the sexist remarks men make about women online. Yet somehow men are labeled as sexist toxic monsters while women are portrayed as perfect and angelic. Even if you are asking a harmless question about relationship advice as a straight man, and not being critical of women at all the entire thread will be an avalanche of disdain and condescending bullshit about how you = bad

I've noticed this, and it's bizarre and disgusting. Even when men ask for dating advice or share what works for them, they get treated with such unwarranted disdain. I don't understand it.

There was a thread in one of the dating subs a while ago (/r/dating, I think) where the guy said that he stopped writing personal messages to women on dating sites, and just sent "hey." He figured, the response rate was already so low that he may as well make it a numbers game. Lo and behold, he sent out dozens of message per day, and had more total replies from women as a result.

A mob of women completely eviscerated the dude, and he wasn't even being rude at first. They told him he didn't respect women, they hoped he never dated again and died alone, etc. Eventually he started talking shit back, but truth be told it was one of the most one-sided and unjustified gang-ups I can remember witnessing on this site. Nowhere did he say anything disrespectful toward women, he was just trying to share with other men how he got more dates.

I'm not saying most women are like the ones in that thread, but the ones who did speak up in that specific thread despised him. It made no sense.

It's honestly one of the hardest things about being the man. Because you can't you can't trust anyone to validate you. You have to be your own barometer. Because anytime you start giving an opinion or an impression of a situation out loud people are shitting all over you telling me that you're wrong to feel that way or that you're crazy. So you never had anyone other than yourself saying Hey you're totally valid and you start to question your own fucking sanity.

There was this guy talking about this woman that he worked with. Every morning they would have like this meeting and she would stand by the door so that when it was time to give out work assignments she could just leshe could just leave before anyone saw her. And this guy was talking about how frustrating it was because he kept getting more work because of this. And people were just shitting all over him saying well this is about how it made you feel and you hate women and blah blah blah blah. He just didn't want to do triple fucking work and everyone's telling them that hes crazy and that the woman isn't dipping out dipping out to avoid work. That she probably has her. In her she needed to use the bathroom and all this bullshit.

And of course the thread got removed because the mod said that it was about how the person felt rather than whatever the flock else. But there were all these other posts by women that were all about how they felt and this guy's post didn't take his emotion into it at all he was just pointing out a situation and wanting an open discussion but of course he couldn't have one because people don't want to validate men and It's actually say out loud that women do shady shit too because I want to enable the behavior so they can keep getting away with it

I made a post saying that young women cheat more than young men. I got downvoted to oblivion and some Darwin award winning redditor sent me a link to a statistic to prove me wrong. That actually argued FOR my point as its statistic showed that between ages 18-29 women are more likely to cheat than men.

I then used that Darwin's statistic and still got downvoted to shit. Truly lovely.

I literally am experiencing it in the most random of places actually, In a fucking Naruto (it's an anime lmao) sub Reddit. Where I call out someone for saying the writing of the female lead Sakura is bad writing because it's unrealistic as girls irl wouldn't act like this. (She constantly chooses the abusive, bad boy hot toxic character over Naruto the good guy hero that loves her from childhood and constantly saves her etc.)

So I basically posted saying this isnt bad writing or unrealistic and that many if not the majority of girls especially in the age range of these characters irl choose the Toxic fuck boy type guys over the good guys that care which isn't even a diss or whatever it's a life fact lmao. I literally until my current 7 year relationship was that guy they chose over guys that were better. I wasnt even crazy special just above average looking, popular because of MMA and other high school and college sports and I hated people (still do) and social interaction so I had that whole edgy boy, dark vibe they like In their minds 🤣 and that's all it took for them to constantly choose me with me giving them little to no att nation pretty openly not giving a fuck about them (wasn't bad to then I just was open that I didnt care about them and it was just about sex) over guys that were great to them. I literally was the one doing it and thought it was insane they would go for me.

So basically every comment was just them (I'm a Naruto sub 🤣) calling me a loser and saying I need to get out more and acting like this doesn't happen and all girls are holy, how dare I say this. One guy literally said he never once in his life has seen a girl like this lmao. I can even handle arguing the "majority" might not be like this but dude literally said he's never seen a girl ever choose a toxic guy over a good guy and I basically told him then your either delusional, lying just to simp or never been around females lol.

I even said guys also do it and are like this etc to alot. Never got any actual thought out responses just comments of "loser get out more" and the famous ".

I even got "permanently banned" from a few groups on Reddit, Facebook, and how can I forget when I was permanently terminated from my paid subscription of YouTube Premium for making a gender post. It literally took me 9 months to fight YouTube to reinstate my account. But the funniest thing about my appeal with YouTube was after they thoroughly went through all of my posts, they concur that I did absolutely nothing wrong.

I so feel you OP. Warning, long rant incoming:

1.I once posted a pirate/bandit OC of mine on a critique subreddit in one of my now deleted accounts. Some commenter deemed him something on the lines of "a juvenile edgelord commonly found in fanfics of teenage boys", which wasn't something I could dispute. What particularly irked me however was when she decried his backstory as a "borderline sexist attack on women, especially sex workers" and demanded me to have empathy for them.

For some background, I envisioned him being the son of some prostitute. At the time of his conception, she had relations with multiple men, and thus his father was unknown to her. As a mother, she was very deadbeat to her son, and only begrudgingly took care of him, and eventually abandoned him when was between 8 to 10.

That was entirely done to cut as many relatives out of the picture as possible, and thus leave him without any means of family support. For example, if his father was untraceable even to his mother, then he has no means of tracking down his father and paternal relatives for help. Likewise, he can't rely on his mother if she abandoned him. Nor can he seek out her family if he wasn't given an idea of who they were.

There was no intentions of "slut shaming women" at all, nor was she meant represent prostitutes as a whole like Stephen King didn't intended Christine to represent cars. Hell, she was entirely an afterthought to me. In the very remote chance that I've turned the outline in a published novel, she most likely wouldn't even make an appearance. The OC's mother was simply background information to contextualize his living situation. I was actually taken aback when brought up gendered politics into it, as I never conceived it for anything beyond an explanation for a character without a family.

She further proclaimed that prostitutes have access to birth control, and further pushed that she must've wanted to have children if she kept the pregnancy. Evidentially, she seemed to part of an especially hard-line feminist school of thought that treat women as of some hive minded collective of "sisters." In other words, the idea of a morally unscrupulous female individual is unfathomable to them, and they regard the depiction of them as an attack on women as a whole.

Also, I personally found her narrative of "all mothers must want their children, if they didn't filter them through birth control" to be incredibly naive. As any parents know, parenting is extremely difficult and stressful. There are many individuals who underestimate the challenges of parenthood until it is too late, and then find it too overwhelming. They also might be caught up in other circumstances that cause them to change their minds. Not to mention, there are many well documented cases of mothers abandoning their children. Such as this particular incident when a Chicago mother in the late 1940s sold four of her children for some bingo money.

2.In another post in a true crime sub, I was trying to ask for cases of abductions perpetrated by women. As I hardly ever hear of them happing and was curious if there were any notable incidents. I used "female" in the title, thinking it was just another (mostly) interchangeable synonym for "women", much in the vein of "lady", along with "girl" and "gal" to a lesser extent. Not helping matters, is that I absentmindedly used "men" in the thread.

Soon the tread was taken over by the "female is an adjective, not a noun" crowd. A movement that I wasn't even aware of prior to me submitting the post. They proclaimed that what I wrote was an "incel dogwhistle trying to dehumanize women." I was taken aback by how they reinterpreted my words well beyond their intended meaning. I guess "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar" is an alien concept to those users. Not wanting to deal with being armchair psychoanalyzed, I simply deleted the post, and reworded the title.

It annoys me to no end, on how careful you have to be, when even passively mentioning anything about women online.
