The first lawyer I had was constantly arguing with and attacking me. It's just part of the rigged game against men.

How about:

“50-50 and joint decision making for a year. Parents agree to revisit the issue of decision making after one year and make appropriate changes”

Obviously, a year from now you decide that joint is fine.

Do you have a history of making poor decisions? Are you currently involved with your children? Does your ex have a job? Are there abuse allegations? The only reason I can see your lawyer recommending that you not get joint decision making powers is if you have a history that makes it likely that you would lose in front of a judge.

Maybe they're trying to close the deal and that's what they think it will take. If you don't agree, then go back to them with a compromise. Let her have the say on some key issues and everything else agreed. Having one final decision-maker saves a lot of legal fees in the future but I can understand you not wanting to give up that control. Other than that, sounds like you have a solid deal in terms of custody and relocation that it would be a shame to piss away.

And why don't you just directly ask your lawyers this question. Clients are such pussies sometimes, I swear. Just fucking ask. Scared of their own lawyers and would rather come online and accuse the lawyers of selling them out ...
