If ever on public Transit I'd give up a seat to anyone who looks like they are not feeling well or frail, or old people or pregnant women. Why should I give up my seat to you just because I got here first if you are capable of standing, the entitlement is appalling.

Don't give me any of that sexist bullshit, I wouldn't give up my seat for a man either. As I stated in my original comment, there are times when I would give up my seat to people in need, both men and women for a condition or someone just having a bad day.

My point was that, noone regardless of sex is 'holier than thou' and should make you give up something that's rightfully yours just because of their gender.

I still love and respect women, I'm not some sexist. I am just standing up for myself. That doesn't make me hate anyone or think less of anybody.

If I ran a store and someone asked me for a free item, I'd say no. Those items are rightfully mine and I have the choice to handle/disperse them as I need and is fair to me. There may be the odd time I would give someone a break ie. forgot their wallet on a .50 cent candy or something. But that has nothing to do with people as they are, and It doesn't make me some jerk to not give everything away free everyday.

Yeah he's right. I used to give up my seat for women like an idiot untill I wised up and stopped treating them like snowflakes. I only give up my seat now if the woman is pregnant, if it's an elderly person or a person with a debilitating physical condition. If none of the above apply to a woman, then she can keep standing.

The women demanding his seat and the man giving it would mean both acknowledges that women are inferior to man bcs they needed the seat more than the man. And not giving up your seat to any woman, no matter what, because you don't see women giving up their seat to anyone (men, women, children) in need.

I'm 73 grew up in NYC, my parents instilled in me to never take a seat on a bus or subway train, unless the vehicle was empty, now my age prevents me from such chivalrous acts, but I don't see any young people offering an old gent a seat. Civil discourse and common courtesies have vanished from a selfish society.
