wtf?

Also, Spain records all killings of women by men as gender violence, but not the other way around.

Happy to see this statistic show up in my work's Mental Health Training. I just wish the Mental Health Training wasn't optional.

I'm Spanish. And yes, it has been this way for some time. So even if a woman attacks you on the street and you even put a scratch on her while defending yourself, you are fucked. Just because gender violence is way more punible than regular violence.

Also, government recently pardoned a woman, president of a non-lucrative organization for HELPING KIDS, that after not complying with the shared custody, falsely accusing him of all types of abuse 4 or 5 times, and ultimately kidnapping her own kids when none of that worked. This woman kept them completely locked, without education and not even able to see the sun, since she only allowed them to breath fresh air for 20 minutes every night. The girl didn't know how to talk when police found her, she was just sniffing police officers like an animal.

This woman was condemned to 2,5 years of jail, and said multiple times in the media that she regrets nothing and she would do it again.

The ministry of equality, and the ministress Irene Montero, called her "protective mother" and pardoned her, so she doesn't even have to go to Jail now and hasn't even lost custody of the kids.

[–]skellious[S] 36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

that is fucked up.

[–]ChxsenK 48 points49 points50 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The father has already raised 100k euros in order to actually sue the Ministress of equality.

[–]skellious[S] 25 points26 points27 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I hope he succeeds.

(also obviously you can speak English as you wish but usually we do not use the term "Ministress". we use "Minister" no matter who is in the role. same with most occupations. there is no gender distinction.)

[–]ChxsenK 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would hope so too. But he is trying to sue the very same person with enough power to nullify condemnations lol

[–]Man_of_culture_112 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

GOOD. SICK person (the mother and the ministress)

[–]Fearless-File-3625 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So who has the custody of the girl now?

[–]ChxsenK 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As far as I know, mostly the father with the mother to be allowed to see the kids under surveillance if I remember correctly.

[–]beleidigtewurst 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Spain needs a c1vil w@r.

Spain needs men to realize how fucked up it is, and protest/vote accordingly.

A good third of DV hotline calls in Germany is from men.

They already did that… it didn’t go well

[–]ChxsenK 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We already had one not that many years ago. My father was a little kid.

It blows my mind that in this day and age governments pass laws that discriminate on the basis of sex. The U.S. has several that I know of and I’m sure many more that I’m not aware of.

No civilized country should be passing legislation that discriminates on the basis of sex. All citizens should be equal under the law.

It seems we never get passed justifying discrimination, we just change who it’s PC to discriminate against.

[–]skellious[S] 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

yeah. we're just unfortunate to be alive in this time. maybe in 50 years it will change again.

[–]tenchineuro 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

The U.S. has several that I know of and I’m sure many more that I’m not aware of.

California's bill requiring a certain number of women on corporate boards violates so many laws, it violates both the state and federal constitutions, it violates Ca's own Unruh Civil Right's Act, it violates the 1964 Civil Right's Act, and yet bills like this get passed anyway. WTF is wrong with these people.

Luckily this law was ruled unconstitutional, twice.

  • California law requiring women on company boards struck down

But they will try again.

[–]63daddy 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Then there’s enforcement. A judge ruled exempting women from selective service is unconstitutional, but congress decided to keep exempting them anyways.

It's been well known for decades that men have completely lost their balls. Therefore you really shouldn't be surprised.

[–]eldred2 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That way, when they study the crime statistics later, they can claim it's all men perpetrators and women victims. It's a bit like like how defining "rape" in a way that requires the victim be penetrated with a penis leads to statistics showing the vast majority of rapists are men.

Did fascism ever really die in Spain?

[–]copeharderhun -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Funnily enough "liberals" and "progressives" are much bigger fascists than the actual fascists were.

Actually there was a case that was recorded as that but the perpetrator was a lesbian that killed her exgirlfriend's boyfriend as a revenge.

I'm not really sure where i did listen it, because it was some time ago, but if i remember well the reason was that "the intention of the homicide" was harming a women bc she was her girlfriend so it did count; some people could say that it didn't happen but considerating that this gender violence law in Spain includes violence between lesbian couples but not any kind of violence against men, and also the "Equality Ministry" did financed a program called "not only the punches hurts" were they portrayed the silence of men as a kind of violence, that should not be a surprise.

[–]skellious[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

as usual, those who don't fit the mainstream agenda get hurt as collateral. :/

[–]Man_of_culture_112 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wonder if feminists will blame patriachy for this level of injustice (they will even if it a policy brought by themselves).

[–]Qantourisc 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hmm this brings me to an idea to make a website listing gender equality information and scores ...

[–]Dirk_94 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Im a bit confused

So when, just as an example, a woman would stab a man in the stomach it would be punished differently than if a man stabbed a woman in the stomach?

(Presumind the same circumstances ect. of course)

That Sounds so ridicilous...

[–]skellious[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

if a woman stabs a man it's not a gender based violence crime, but when reversed it is. basically intent and motivation is presumed when a man attacks a woman.

[–]Dirk_94 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

intent and motivation is presumed when a man attacks a woman.

Put very well...and also so disturbing...

[–]ectbot 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc."

"Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are etc., &c., &c, and et cet. The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase.

it's not like we can do anything else. the law is how it is. we can fight to change the law but we can't magically make it go away.

and many of the people who made these laws are men. they are equally to blame.

I think Spain has a sizeable non white population. I don't really see what skin colour has to do with it though.
