Its the guy who hears a 'lets just be friends' rejection and he actually sticks around and gets hurt when he sees her with another guy and will stick around and listen on the phone for hours while she tells him about her troubles.

If you actually aren't interested in being friends with a woman youre attracted to, you have to be willing to let her go and put your attention to people who are interested in you. I've met men like this and was a man like this before. Stayed friends with the assumption that she'd get to a point where she'd want to try again. It almost never happens and I've found that in conversations with women an LJBF type rejection is done to preserve the feelings and ego of the guy. It's really more like "I don't want to be friends with you, but I also don't want us to have bad blood between us and hard feelings".

I've never been contacted again by a woman who i didn't reach out to after an LJBF type rejection. I imagine there's a sense of relief when they see that the man hasn't freaked out and he's content to not reach out and talk to her again.

That type of guy does exist and they are basically next-level nice guys. They are fake "friends" with ulterior motives who only stay in a girl's orbit and remain "friends" in hope that one day they will be more than that. Some of them have obsessional traits and turn into stalkers, others get bored and move onto a new target. I have a female relative who is surrounded by these types and doesn't seem aware of it.

However, most of the time when TRPers and MGTOWs call other men "beta orbiters" it is a form of projection. Manosphere types see women as sex objects and assume other guys subconsciously think they same way they do but are just unenlightened. They cannot understand that other men may not share their thought process and may genuinely want to be friends with a woman.

This thinking might be related to the idea that boys and girls can't ever be "just" friends, which is sometimes instilled real early in life. My parents used to assume that I was attracted to all girls I was hanging out with in my teens. When I was really young they used to joke that the girls I was friends on the playground were my "girlfriends" which made me feel self-conscious. Then there was the whole "K-I-S-S-I-N-G" thing.

I think they exist, but women often aren't aware they are orbiters. And they are orbiters because women most likely won't even consider them, therefore not even actual back up plans.

I guess its a guy whose waiting his turn in line in hopes a woman will eventually choose him. Its the woman's backup plan in case her relationship fails or something like that. Sounds pretty creepy and desperate. I don't think I've ever met a guy like that.

I've met dudes like this but I wouldn't call them beta and/or orbiters.

My best friend (I'm female, so is she) is incredibly good looking and she's always been outgoing. The type of person who fits into any social group. There's always been guys interested in her, and a number of those guys never forgot they had a crush on her.

I wouldn't label them as creeps and I wouldn't say she's trying to have this effect on people. It just is what it is.

Then again, I'm looking at a real life example. I'm sure there are guys out there who aren't as pleasant to be around.

A lot of phenomena women experience as mundane, guys dont see and there is no reason you would, unless you lived in convincing drag for a while. Also some women don't see their orbiters.

Orbiters will do so when given the chance and are fairly common. As another man, you have certainly met them, but you aren't their target, so they will never present this predatory side to you. He could be an otherwise cool person.

Any girl will tell you that in whenever she's been conventionally attractive (eg lost 20 lbs), these guys come out of the woodwork.

Suddenly these guys want to hear your thoughts, help you record your EP, and the authors cited in your thesis are very interesting to them. The only thing that changed was your appearance.

We start out thinking we have gained a supportive male friend. But your intuition reveals this type of person is like a cat at a mouse hole, patiently waiting til you're are drunk, high or asleep. You know the rest. They don't give a fuck about your thoughts or humanity. This is the most shared common experience of girls is figuring out how to cut the fat. The fastest way is finding gay guy friends. They're safe.

They fake things in common. It's exhausting to invest in these people. It's sad to learn your support was fake and their niceness had an ultimatum. They hover around you checking your relationship status..

This is different than a friendship, but masks as one to the target which he leverages for his penis's interest. Orbiters suck and are very low level operating beings.
