"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

What were the comments? The fox article just keeps talking about these comments without actually mentioning what they are. I'm guessing they're trying to get you to watch their video with ads...

It's really important that we understand the roots of this,' she said.

'The vast majority of mass shooters are young men that have a very troubling history with women almost every single time.

'There is violence against women that immediately predates the you know this violence. This shooter in Texas, shot his own grandmother.

'We've seen a pattern here with this.'

Check on the men in your life,' she said, 'Seriously because there's, it just feels like there's very few role models and examples of people talking about this in healthy ways.

'And it's a big problem because there are a lot of crises.

'And especially as we try to evolve out of a world that is predatory on women, gay, non-binary and trans-people because traditional regressive, you know patriarchal values, ... and uplift men's identity in relation to other things in relation to like, how women treat them, how much stuff they have.'

Young men, she said, were being radicalized in new ways.

'But there is such a thing as healthy masculinity that is not rooted in the subjugation of other people,' she said.

It's not just gun violence,' she said.

'There's so many different areas and issues where all of us agree - if not all, an overwhelming amount of us agree. And Congress still can't get their s*** together.

'It's really hard, and it's super frustrating. And it's frustrating for you.

'It's frustrating for me being a part of this. And I don't want to be one of those ding dongs that just tells you to vote harder because the solution is a lot bigger than that and it's going to take a lot more of us and from us to fix this.'

If we go by money alone, women outearn men by quite alot in a large amount of places, but spesifically the younger crowd. Now we can claim a wage gap has opened between men and women, favoring women.

If you look at the top 0.001% and claim these people are "patriarchy", then you must be at least intentionally blind to the waves of the general population.

According to the first article you linked, women earn less than men in 34 of the 50 metro areas examined. The second article states “Nationally, the median woman under 30 who works full time earns 93% of what her male peers make.” And according to the third article: “Do women with similar credentials in similar jobs earn more than the men they work with? It’s in this context that the answer remains no.”

So yeah…your own sources disagree with you. At least you linked credible sources though, I’ll give you that.

[+]FurryM17 -31 points-30 points-29 points 4 years ago (39 children) | Copy Link

The patriarchy means that it's men who have most of the power. Money generally equals power but I'm willing to set that aside. In the US the president has never been a woman. Only recently has the Vice President been a woman. Congress is mostly men. The Supreme Court is mostly men although it will only be a one person majority soon . Now before anyone says it yes "Brick layers are all men." Who's at the bottom doesn't change who's at the top. If men have the majority of the power it's considered a patriarchy as far as I understand. That's all I'm saying.

If you look at the top 0.001% and claim these people are "patriarchy"

Who else would we look at to determine who has power within a system if not the people at the top?

you must be at least intentionally blind to the waves of the general population.

If I am it's not intentional.

[–]AspirationsOfFreedom 19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

That's funny. Seen PLENTY of diffrent deffinitions of patriarchy. Ya'll should sort yourself out.

And if we have a messured difference in who seeks power, in spesific areas, HOW would you suggest we enforce a gender equal power structure?

[+]FurryM17 -9 points-8 points-7 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

That's funny. Seen PLENTY of diffrent deffinitions of patriarchy. Ya'll should sort yourself out.

Who's "y'all"? What demographic do you think I make up? I'm an average white dude from Texas.

And if we have a messured difference in who seeks power, in spesific areas, HOW would you suggest we enforce a gender equal power structure?

Fuck if I know. I was just making a joke about how 175k literally ain't shit to the elites.

[–]AspirationsOfFreedom 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

People who belive in Patriarchy.

[–]FurryM17 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

Ok

Edit: What's your definition of patriarchy? What would you call a society where women held most of the positions of power?

[–]AspirationsOfFreedom2 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I would define patriarchy as a social system where the male counterpart of the species controll or dominate. Counterpart would be matriarchy, where the female controll or dominate. Lions and Hyenas are good examples.

As an employee in healthcare, i don't think it has to be called anything. It happens to be more women or men in special posissions, and we can see how certian demographics seek certian jobs. Aka why so many women go into healthcare, compared to men and manual labor. Long term we can see how men overall seek ledership possisions, more so than women. Even in the female-dominated fields, men often rank up faster.

[–]FurryM172 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Lions are actually confusing because it's a male who is kind of in charge of fending off other males and securing territory but the females who have much of the responsibilities like hunting and raising young. Males will bully single females but collectively females will bully the males. I think males also tend to come and go. I don't know. I guess it depends on how you define the power of a lion.

Hyenas are definitely matriarchal though. Mostly females except non mature males. Obviously led by a female.

I'm going to spend all day how lion society is classified now so thanks for that.

[–]AspirationsOfFreedom5 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Due to your name, im just assuming it will be violently masturbating to the lion sex facts.

Steady on, chap.

[–]FurryM172 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You literally just strangled your argument with your own words. "Who's at the bottom doesn't change who's at the top."

You know hating men makes you sexist, right? Has anyone ever told you that?

[–]FurryM17 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

You literally just strangled your argument with your own words.

I'm not really sure how. I'm just saying men occupy the powerful positions in American society. I'm honestly a little blown away that that's a controversial opinion.

You know hating men makes you sexist, right? Has anyone ever told you that?

No one has ever told me that. I've always assumed that was because I was a white man, though.

[–]IVIaskerade 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

men occupy the powerful positions in American society.

And men occupy the least powerful positions, so by your own definition they're also the most oppressed.

It's funny how "woke" people will accept that trickle-down economics doesn't work, has never worked, will never work, and is inherently flawed, but trickle-down gender is 100% true perfect how things work.

[–]FurryM17 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Oh I'm woke now. Yes men occupy the least powerful positons. How can I make myself more clear that men can be in charge of other men and mistreat them? Have you guys just never read any history?

[–]IVIaskerade3 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

How can I make myself more clear that men can be in charge of other men and mistreat them?

By not trying to call that patriarchy, because it's just individuals acting for their own benefit.

[–]FurryM170 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don't understand! It's literally just a way to classify who's in power! What it can't be a monarchy because not everyone is a monarch? I feel like I'm having a stroke in here.

[–]IVIaskerade3 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It's literally just a way to classify who's in power!

No, it's not. "Patriarchy" has a lot of added baggage, and the moment you agree to use it without the baggage, the people promising you it "just" means that immediately revert to the definition with all the baggage.

[–]FurryM171 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Ok. Well let's you and I think of a word for when men primarily make up the government and the nobility and therefore have most of the power.

Edit: without the added baggage I mean.

[–]IVIaskerade1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It would have to be a word that didn't focus on their gender, because them being men doesn't somehow transfer power to any other men in society.

[–]FurryM171 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I see. You would consider something like Afghanistan a patriarchy though right?

[–]IVIaskerade1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Insofar as "afghanistan" actually exists, it's a theocracy.

[–]FurryM171 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

What do you mean by actually exists?

[–]IVIaskerade1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

https://www.frontpagemag.com/point/2021/08/there-no-afghanistan-daniel-greenfield/

[–]FurryM170 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Oh ok. I thought you meant it wasn't recognized because of the Taliban or something.

If Afghanistan doesn't meet the requirements for a patriarchy does any country past or present? Did people just sort of conjure up this idea of a society run by men, in your opinion?

Afghanistan is a pretty strong example of a patriarchy, to me. I mean, let's be honest, no matter how devout she is a woman won't be the leader of Afghanistan any time soon. I don't think it even happened during US occupation when women were actually gaining rights.

The US has come a long way and is nowhere near Afghanistan in that sense. But I do think there are residual effects of when we were more strongly patriarchal.

I've always found it astonishing that black men got the right to vote before women did. Like 50 years before. And everyone knows how we felt about black people for a couple hundred years. Women have only had the right to vote for a little over 100 years. There still hasn't been a female president. There has never been a female majority in Congress. There's never been a female majority in the Supreme Court. The first black woman JUST got nominated. The first woman was appointed to the Supreme Court in 81. I heard something on the radio today about the first female Commandant of the Coast Guard or something?

It's nowhere near the kind of patriarchy that Afghanistan, at least in my view, is. But I do still think it's a country primarily ruled by men.

I've been shown by many people today that that is not the universally accepted definition of patriarchy.

[–]WEEBforLIFE24 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

your definition of "power" is pretty weird.you're acting like people with money are the root of all problems, when 100k people could easily k*ll a rich person and take their money.you could find enough people like you in america and you could have a communist system where no one is actually rich. however, you choose to complain about this while never solving the problem because without rich white men you would have to actually solve problems instead of blaming it on people who happen to have the money to do it.

[–]FurryM17 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

you're acting like people with money are the root of all problems

You jumped on the one thing I agreed to set aside because we could sit here all week discussing at what wealth threshold someone becomes powerful.

your definition of "power" is pretty weird

The government? If it's not money and it's not government what is it?

[–]WEEBforLIFE24 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

the people.you keep saying that it's either the rich or the gouvernment, but in the end people can always rebel.you say that the gouvernment is bad,yet history has shown us that the people of a country can always take the power if they want.the french did it,the romanians did it,the brits did it and the list goes on. people are the many, and the gouvernment is the few. if you all hate the gouvernment you can always rebel against them

[–]FurryM17 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Oh ok. So we're going by whether women are the majority in the country. Whoever is the majority among the people? Please tell me I'm understanding because I'll be so lost if that's not what you mean.

[–]WEEBforLIFE241 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

when dis we get to women ? you were saying that it's the fault of the rich and the gouvernment, which are probably less than 10 percent of the people.all i'm saying is that you blame the few for problems that could be solved by the majority of the people as well

[–]FurryM173 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No I'm saying wealthy people and the government have a lot of power. People in those positions are mostly men. Men controlling most of the power in a society is known as a patriarchy. I didn't make the definition. I have no idea why people are bringing up communism, mistreatment of men or sexism. It's just how people refer to a society that is run mostly by men. That's it. That's all patriarchy means. I don't know how other people define it. If this thread is anything to go off of it varies greatly.

[–]Schadrach 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Who else would we look at to determine who has power within a system if not the people at the top?

Going to suggest a simple idea to you: people at the top more often belonging to a demographic does not mean that that demographic as a class has power in any meaningful way.

If tomorrow two justices fell over dead and Biden replaced both with women, would that make women the supreme legal authority in the US? Like women as a class, not just those 5 specific women?

[–]FurryM17 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Going to suggest a simple idea to you: people at the top more often belonging to a demographic does not mean that that demographic as a class has power in any meaningful way.

Sure doesn't. It does mean this though that those people at the top are that demographic though. If they're males it's considered a patriarchy and if they're females it's a matriarchy. Most of the government is men and most of the billionaires are men. That is all I am saying. Yes women get preferential treatment in society. Yes it sucks to be a man. None of that changes that at the top of our current power structure there's mostly men.

If it was mostly women I'd say we were matriarchal.

[–]TerrytheToeSucker 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

It's mostly men at the top, but women have more voting power, which anyone who knows about politics knows that counts more than who they elect

[–]FurryM17 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Do you mean women turn out in higher numbers?

[–]TerrytheToeSucker 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Yes, by quite a bit

[–]FurryM17 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Are men's votes being suppressed in general?

[–]TerrytheToeSucker1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Who claimed that? No one said men's votes are being surpressed, but men are less likely to vote for a variety of reasons

[–]FurryM171 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Oh ok. Sorry I was just wondering if it was intentional or something systemic.

[–]TerrytheToeSucker2 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It's due to campaigning primarily targetting women and not men.

[–]FurryM171 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

On both sides? That sounds more like a Democrat thing.

[–]ABeeBox 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Well which gender do you think is also the most homeless and poorest?

Even in Ireland, Women get housing priority over men.

So 100 rich men > 10,000 poor men = patriarchy? Sounds like a classist issue more than a sexist issue. Certainly not a patriarchal one.

[–]FurryM17 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So 100 rich men > 10,000 poor men = patriarchy? Sounds like a classist issue more than a sexist issue. Certainly not a patriarchal one.

That can only be a patriarchal society. If there are no women then only men can lead that society. Men leading society is what patriarchal means.

[–]ABeeBox 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

But wouldn't you agree that in that case men hold power and at the same time hold none of it?

What about female Leaders? Or women in ministry?

A patriarchy imposes a society in which men hold all the power and women are unable to obtain nor sustain any influential power. Which isn't the case as many businesses and ministries are in the hands of women.

So even by definition, it's not a patriarchy, because if it was, we wouldn't see any successful women.

Ok I see where you're coming from.

[–]May097 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (33 children) | Copy Link

And the in the rest 99% the most disenfranchised are men too. Kinda failing the point of patriarchy if the people with the worst lives are men.

What's your point?

[+]FurryM17 -7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (32 children) | Copy Link

Well my point was that AOC isn't shit compared to, say, Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates.

But now people are freaking out about the definition of patriarchy. It doesn't matter who's at the bottom or the middle. It matters who's at the top. It's mostly men.

The -archy is just whoever's at the top. In the US if the President, Vice President, Congress, The Supremes Court, and most of the billionaires were women we would call it the matriarchy. Yes even if the people they were mistreating included women.

Do you get what I'm saying? Just because men are treated like dogshit doesn't mean it's all women treating them like that. Men mistreat other men all the time.

[–]Fearless-File-3625 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link

That is complete BULLSHIT, your definition of patriarchy is not what most people follow. You can't just make up meanings for words.

If men are mistreated then it is not patriarchy. As simple as that.

your definition of patriarchy is not what most people follow. You can't just make up meanings for words.

Ok then tell me what your definition is. I'm not making it up I've talked to people about it and I looked it up before discussing it with people to be sure

If men are mistreated then it is not patriarchy

Wait we're NOT making up meanings for words?

[–]Fearless-File-3625 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

This is what I got from the Wikipedia:

"Patriarchy is an institutionalised social system in which men dominate over others, but can also refer to dominance over women specifically; it can also extend to a variety of manifestations in which men have social privileges over others to cause exploitation or oppression, such as through male dominance of moral authority and control of property"

[–]FurryM17 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

And that doesn't sound at least a little bit like America to you?

[–]Fearless-File-3625 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago* (16 children) | Copy Link

How are men dominating over women when majority of homeless in US are men?

How are men dominating over women when majority of college students in US are women?

How are men dominating over women when 90%+ college scholarships are exclusive for women in US?

How are men dominating over women when men get 60% longer sentence for the same crime than women in US?

How are men dominating over women when men don't even get the same right to vote as women in US?

[–]FurryM17 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

How are men dominating over women when men don't even get same the right to vote as women in US?

What is that in reference to?

Look I'm not saying women aren't doing better than men in society. I'm certainly not saying men have it easier. Women are treated preferentially in many aspects of society.

I'm just saying that men occupy the seats of government and have most of the money. I never thought I'd have to debate that those things equal power.

Idk what you mean. I got my definition of patriarchy from Wikipedia and according to that US is not a patriarchy, if anything it is a matriarchy.

Ok I joined voluntarily so I you'll have to explain that a little further. Does not registering for the draft mean you can't vote?

Failing to register is a felony and felons can't vote in most states (at least until after probation).

Because the women are in charge?

Some women are in charge but overall women are dominating over men.

Did you mean 'some men'?

[–]Fearless-File-36253 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No. Some women are in charge (most are men) but that is not a reason US is not a patriarchy. US is a not patriarchy because women on average are treated infinitely better than men.

I see.

Uhmm, do you still think US is a patriarchy in which men get privileges for just being men ?

[–]FurryM171 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I guess it depends on what you consider a privelege. Are we talking priveleges afforded by law or just privileges in general?

[–]Fearless-File-36251 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Either way women have it better, especially the law.

[–]FurryM171 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Are you a woman?

[–]Fearless-File-36251 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Why should I answer that ?

[–]FurryM171 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Well I'm a man so I have at least a blind spot to my own priveleges compared to women. I thought maybe you were and we could compare.

The biggest one I can think of off the top of my head that's not even a legal thing but a universal one is that I'll never have to worry about getting pregnant and giving birth. That is just the way it is. All the dangers or judgments that come with that will just never apply to me. That is a uniquely female thing.

Ultimately to answer your question I don't really think men are afforded priveleges not afforded to women in this country. I don't think that disqualifies it as a patriarchy. I also think we can't look at the situation today in a vacuum. White men have always had the right to vote in this country for example. That's a good hundred years they have on black men(depending when you start counting) and 150 on women. I think there are lingering effects of that today.

Listen I've had to deal with biases towards me constantly. I get it. But I can tell you I'm pretty familiar with a male dominated society and the US is still one, in my opinion.

I realize that is not universally accepted.

[–]Fearless-File-36252 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

That's not true actually, all white men didn't always had the right to vote. I don't about US but in UK only 3% of the population had the right to vote in 1800s. It slowly increased till after WW1 when everyone got the right but before that majority of men didn't have right to vote.

In WW1 over a million men died for Britain from all over the world (including India, Australia, Canada, New Zealand etc), most of these men didn't have the right to vote and they were conscripted against their will to fight in the second most deadliest war in the history. The situation was even worse in Prussia, Austria-Hungary, France and Russia. most men didn't have any say in the war and were still conscripted against their will.

When, in 1920s, everyone got the right to vote, the minimum voting age for women was 31 while for men it was 21 to offset the fact that there were a million more women than men. Even after this, men were obligated to fight to protect their country, while women weren't, and which they did in WW2.

In 1962, when conscription was abolished in UK, men got the same right to vote as women, a total of 41 years later. We still don't that today have in US.

Men have literally paid with their lives and still have to in many places to get a basic human right.

[–]FurryM171 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Oh goodness. You're from the UK? I'd like to apologize. I did the classic American thing and assumed you were American.

Ok so at the risk of having my face rubbed in it I will openly admit that everything you just talked about is completely unfair, unjust and quite honestly inhumane. I really didn't know any of that about the UK. If a person is obligated to fight and possibly die they should have the right to vote. Full stop. Especially after WWI! That wasn't as much a war as it was mass human sacrifice much of the time. It honestly might be the most brutal war in human history. I mean, how is that not basically punishing young men just for being men? No wonder we were misunderstanding each other.

I hope you don't think I condone any of that because of my misunderstanding.

That...I don't even know what to call that.

[–]Fearless-File-36251 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No need to apologise, I do that too.

It definitely is and it is still happening today.

I really didn't know any of that about the UK.

That is not a specifically UK thing. This happened all over the Europe and is still happening. 8000 men were massacred in Srebrenica in 1992 (second largest European genocide after WW2) and 3000+ in Kosovo in 1999 because UN and NATO refused to evacuate men.

It is very hard to say anything about US because every state had its own laws on who should be allowed to vote.

[–]redramsfan123 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

Considering the fact that many of the most powerful people in America are feminists including the president and the fact that most of the media and many of the most powerful companies are pro feminism and most importantly the fact that women are considered to be a "protected class", no, no it definitely does not.

[–]FurryM17 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Ok. Look into what a protected species is and tell me if that seems to indicate something that is doing well or is powerful.

[–]redramsfan1232 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

A protected species are protected because they are going extinct. Their problem mostly stems from their extinction (,rather it be from a disease, being hunted too often, not being able to live in the right environment etc). Women are not even close to going extinct so the same doesn't really apply to women. Either way, by law if you harm them you go to jail. That's not how you treat something you are trying to opress.

[–]FurryM171 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No it's how you treat something you're trying to protect, though.

They didn't even have the right to vote until 100 years ago. Look I'm just as upset about biases towards men as anyone else. Someone's running the country and to me it seems like the men.

[–]CatsEatingCaviar1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Their is a difference between saying men are running the country and the people running the country are men, men as a gender aren't running shit, they are as miserable as anyone else. Patriarchy implies by men, for men. But rich men don't care about poor men, not because they are men but because the rich never care about the poor. If all races, genders, and orientations, were equally represented in the rich, they would still shit on the poor just as much. It isn't men or "whiteness" that is the enemy, but "richness". If we replaced rich white men with rich black Jewish trans-women, they would absolutely carry on the oppression without a hiccup. Look how the rich in India treat the poor in India, or in Japan, Africa, Mexico, etc.

Do you get what I'm saying? Just because men are treated like dogshit doesn't mean it's all women treating them like that. Men mistreat other men all the time.

And women treat other women like dog shit. Like do you people just ignore all the GOP women in the same quantity as liberal women who regularly vote AGAINST what folks like you claim women need/want? Do you ignore Kay Ivey who was the one who basically shattered the record for signing an anti abortion bill into law SHE pushed for? What about the MN supreme court who said drunk women have responsibility with sex, which was unanimous with the majority being women (a recent event feminist circles tried VERY hard to ignore, including removing any post about it)? What about Devoss who wanted to gut title 9?

The only reason everything looks like a patriarchy to you and people like you is because you ONLY focus on men and ignore women when it comes to people doing wrong. You don't give a rats ass about women in power and what they do unless you can celebrate it. If you did it would ruin your patriarchy, male domination, and that men are the problem argument, so you ignore them. This is why any time we here or any other sub that uses as much info as possible you folks immediately make it about women and men being bad, you intentionally try to keep the subject as "men bad, they cause _______ (insert literally anything here, but ONLY the bad stuff).

The -archy is just whoever's at the top

Women vote more than men, you people pick them. In fact women voted in such massive number Biden won on Super Tuesday, that was due to a gigantic turn out of women. Women could have picked Hillary for example, for some reason you clowns blame shit on men even though at that time just as many women voted for Trump as Hillary, yet we gotta hear how sexist men are for not voting more for Hillary... when women had equal parts and power in terms of 1 person, 1 vote.

TL;DR You consider everything a patriarchy because you choose to completely ignore the women in power, the women who do YOU wrong, the women who are on the other side of the isle, and choose to only focus on the bad men and not the good men. Because when a man is good to for women, it's just "normal" and the way it should be to you, for no other reason than "because woman" while you spout off about dumb crap like patriarchy and change the definition constantly just to fit the point you are trying to make of "men bad".

This is why in this sub and much of reddit the joke about feminism is "women good, men bad" because nearly everything you people state fits that mold and practically never comes out as the inverse. You just default to patriarchy which has this definition that flows like water that is completely dependent on how you are trying to paint men as the problem.

[–]FurryM17 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Do you think I'm a woman?

[–]GivePuppiesBazookas 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There is a reason I said "you folks" and "you people" and related it to feminists multiple times.

The only reason everything looks like a patriarchy to you and people like you

because nearly everything you people state

you folks immediately make it about women

what folks like you claim women need/want?

And sure, I referred to you as if you may be a woman, but anyone who spouts patriarchy nonsense is clearly team women, so you might as well be one as much as a "pick me" girl is a male as it relates to gendered topics.

So I give you a point, but I also covered those tracks myself with my statements of wrapping up people into feminism.

I'll concede to a draw here.

[–]FurryM17 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ok I was just asking. You know you don't have to pick teams right? I mean I push back on women all the time for bias against men.

The men's soccer thing is a good example. The men get paid more because the they're more popular. It doesn't matter how much the women win. Also I'd go out on a limb and say men's soccer is way more competitive. The female team is not better than the men's team period.

[–]May097 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

The problem is that the way people use the term patriarchy is that men dominate every level of hierarchy in the world, and thus are responsible for oppression of women at every level. All the while forgetting the fact that it's men who are at the bottom.

Yes what you said above, all of it is absolutely correct. However, just because you believe in that definition of patriarchy, doesn't mean that is how it is politically advertised and used in the world.

The word patriarchy is used to dehumanize men and create wuch bullshit slogans like kill all men and men are trash.

You know what my problem is? You (not you, i meant the feminists) want men to be woke and help the "cause", all the while the major point of your cause being dehumanization of men.
