Ok I know Jordan peterson's channel and lectures are generally split between two sections those being self help/psychology as well as his more political content, what I will mainly discuss is his political content that is geared towards gender.

Based on what I have been seeing Jordan peterson claims that in order to fix a lot of societal problems such as loneliness and depression we should return to our traditional gender roles. For example he tries to equate the unhappiness of women to their lack of children and their renewed focus on careers. He blames the frustration of men on their lack of sexual intercourse and other traditional exploits. Moreover, he also still uses the long disproved alpha-beta theory which was even confirmed false by its creator.

To some extent he is correct on those generalized statements though his reasoning is false to some extent as he does not try to look at things from a wider picture i.e. considering facts such as work burnout, stress, worsening global conditions, as well as you guessed it.....the internet which have all been scientifically proven to lead to unhappiness and a lack of self fulfilment I mean even the weather causes depression which clearly indicates that these feelings do not always come from a lack of traditional guide but more so the environment of the individual. Granted there are some situations in which the lack or incompetence of the individual to have traditional roles can lead to frustrations, think of incels or femcels for example who are frustrated because of their lack of partnership. However, aren't these factors problems that were created by tradition in the first place such as the obligation to marry, etc? Moreover, in the topic of partnership and child rearing the concept of a mutual contract tends to exist between both partners that they will help each other through their struggles. What jordan peterson is saying is that individuals who do not yet know how to fix themselves should just try to be with someone without regard to the problems of that someone and how competent they are at fixing their supposed problem. Basically its saying that we should ask a broken hammer to fix a broken nail. This means that no, in the perspective of a woman or man having children and living like a 1950's couple wont fix everything in any case it will just lead to a toxic relationship that will leave a broken child in the rubble of their stupidity.

I am not saying that people should never reach out when they have issues both more so that they should at least get themselves together before going in serious relationships instead of hoping that the relationship will just magically fix things. Moreover the reason for a lot of tradition based societal issues is caused by tradition which I am thankful my generation is beginning to disprove and reshape if not outright destroy. Basically you cannot fix a problem like tradition by nodding your head and following it , you fix tradition based issues by addressing tradition itself. And in the topic of intercourse this era is literally the easiest era to access outlets for intercourse such as the legalization of brothels and the widespread proliferation of the hub and similar sites. Overall, jordan peterson has helpful psychological advice in addition to interesting viewpoints in the world of psychology but I think he might have gone of the rails with respect to his more gender focused political pursuits.
