Cleaning the house isn't "liTerAllY unPAiD sLaVEry." they're acting like it's the end of the world when it's really just "I want my house to look nice and clean and not like a hoarder's house, especially when guests are over."

I think it's fair that he should have standards, since he's the one putting his income, house, and probably a car or two on the table. It's not 'taking advantage of a financially dependent woman,' since cooking and cleaning is a responsibility and sex is pleasure that goes to both parties (assuming it's consensual, which in most cases it is.)

I've been in toxic relationships in the past and my last one was a bloody nightmare. Now I'm in a traditional relationship and I'm the happiest person I've ever been in my life. It's a mutual decision between both parties. My partner has a career and loves his job, sometimes works over time and on weekends. Of course, if I really want to get a job, he'll allow me to get one, but he would prefer me working from home and he loves having me at home. I love being at home too and I'm very good at budging, meal prepping, organizing and I love cleaning. We never have to get take aways, as I have everything planned and meals made on time. Also, it's really healthy and filling.

There's nothing wrong with being emotionally supportive, keeping everyone healthy and happy. I get a lot of respect, praise and love from my partner in return, which I never had in the past with exs when I was working. Me working in the past and doing majority of the house work at the same time, sometimes too tired to cook, never felt like enough for my exs and they always complained and treated me like crap.

Of course, all this doesn't apply to all women and I applaud, support women in jobs and careers. Some women really do better in jobs than staying at home. So, why shouldn't it matter if a woman or a man stays home, looks after the house, making meals, looking after the kids and other? If they want to do it and it's a mutual decision between both partners, than it should be no one else's business. We're not being controlled or manipulated. My partner and I are happier than most couples where we live.

After 10 y of marriage I gave my wife a shot to become a working wife. She enjoyed herself 9 months. I told her all that bullshit and stress for me is normal it's called Monday. Anyway I asked if she was done with that and she's back home, she feels and looks way better and has a different view on me carrying all the economic weight of the family. I couldn't be happier as I really didn't see any benefit on her spending all day working.

There are two people in the relationship. They should have an idea of how they want the household to run before they get married.Life happens and you might need to change things up but having a basic idea will make things easier.

Household chores are just something that has to be done. These were people who received allowances for basic chores aren’t they?The person who has the time to do them,likes the particular chore or likes things just so should do it/them.I mean I will volunteer to scrub toilets over vacuuming 11 times out of 10. If you don’t have complicating circumstances (mental illness or conditions like ADHD, small children,big life changes,etc) you shouldn’t have that much to do all the time. Especially if you have time saving devices like washers,dryers and dishwashers but I know those who don’t and it doesn’t take as long as you’d expect.

Clothes lasagna and paper piles are one thing but biohazards are another.

If I had a spouse that earned more than me I would happily not be a wage slave and stay at home to do whatever I wanted with some minor daily chores that take less than an hour to keep up with when done routinely. I get to cook home made meals, something I enjoy, keep everything in it's place nice and orderly, and actually teach my kid how to live and survive daily life which schools have entirely stopped doing on top of being able to work with their hands along with normal daily life applications of what they teach rather than the absurd unrealistic examples schools use in teaching.

Sounds like heaven, where the fuck do I sign up because women suck at taking over a man' role and men are still forced to slave and die at hard jobs to cater to women who are now refusing to do their part in society.

There are two main jobs in a relationship.

Taking care of the home from the inside.
Taking care of the home from the outside.

The first job requires housecleaning, meal making, and child caring.

The second job requires paying for bills, food, house, insurance, appliances, vehicles, and more.

Both are needed. If you have both partners handling job 1 then money gets neglected and thus poverty and more becomes an issue. If both partners are performing job 2 then the home gets neglected and so do the children.

And from my personal experience, when asked 9 out of 10 women would rather stay home and be with the kids.

And I know people like to say that house chores are absolutely backbreaking and time consuming but that’s a total exaggeration for the most part. As someone who was the caretaker for my house (my mom is the main provider and my dad is bedridden) it’s honestly really laid back. You do things on your own time however you want. Ofc you can’t completely be lazy but you can get pretty close.

And anyways what do you think the man does all day? He literally goes to work on average of 8 hours a day. Until your day consists of 8 consistent hours of work then you shouldn’t even be apart of the conversation.

They're clearly not saying it's sexiest to be in a relationship where your partner is a stay at home mum, they're saying it's sexiest to assume that when you date a woman she'll stay at home. Which it is. It's ok to desire that relationship and look for it, it's sexiest to expect it.

Personally I'm probably the other way round, I want a relationship where my wife would be the head of the household and I'd be the primary caretaker (probably not stay at home though cos that would be boring and I do have aspirations). Any relationship dynamic is fine if both are happy with it and it's not actively abusive.
