"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

The world we live is habitable is mainly because of the contributions and sacrifice of Men. When society treats them like shit is saddening.

[–]Mystic_Submissive 25 points26 points27 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And very painful to watch.

I wish empathy gap was a myth like the wage gap.

[–]Yowilkat 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

"when" they treat us like shit? As if there has ever been a culture that didn't make us disposable

[+]Breakula -10 points-9 points-8 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Y’all are hilarious. “Culture that didn’t make us disposable”? Have you ever even read anything about women in history or the present being disposable? Don’t, if you have a shred of empathy. It will haunt you forever.

[–]ReptilianRectangle 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I like your post history. /s

[–]SatrangiBhaijaan2004 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

He just said that men have always been disposable.

No one what asked about your "But.. but what about WOMEN?" here.

[+]Breakula -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So you don’t think he meant men in particular? Like singling men out as the ones who are disproportionately treated as disposable? Because if he wasn’t suggesting that, you’re right.

Negative karma, account created less than three months ago. Definitely a radfem troll.

[+]Distinct_Ad6759 -29 points-28 points-27 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Nah I just have better things to do then sit around and complain about my life on the internet all day everyday.

[–]Leading_Direction_84 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're proving my point by speaking. You seem to think that this sub is just for men to complain about our lives and do nothing. This is not the case.

[–]Leading_Direction_84 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You've also replied to every comment on this post, attempting to beat people down. Stop trolling and begone. We don't do this to feminist subs, don't do it to us.

And a woman was the first one to write the first computer code making it possible for you to post your dumbazz comments are these stupid azz articles in the first place. So what’s your point

[–]Pr0X_JoshiGuy 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (39 children) | Copy Link

And a man built the first computer.

[+]Distinct_Ad6759 -8 points-7 points-6 points 4 years ago (38 children) | Copy Link

What’s a computer without any software? A calculator 😂

[–]Pr0X_JoshiGuy 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (37 children) | Copy Link

Today's computers are still calculators, quite advanced ones but still. Only 0's and 1's.

[–]Wilddog73 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (36 children) | Copy Link

It's not worth it. It's just a matter of fact that many women are raised from little spoiled brats into dumb entitled broads who don't even realize that calculators use code too. Even the ancient ones did, in a way.

[+]Distinct_Ad6759 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You obviously know nothing about computers 🤣

[–]Wilddog73 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Show me a calculator that doesn't use code. x)

[–]wes67stg 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Says the person that thinks Lovelace contributed in any way to modern computing...

She did "algorithms" based on someone else's notes on a machine that didn't exist and that has never been made since. This machine worked in base 10 while modern computers are based on the work of Boole i.e. base 2

She's a forgotten figure that didn't contribute anything valuable to society and that was found decades later and retroactively titled "first programmer" which is quite the stretch

[+]Breakula 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (32 children) | Copy Link

What? This is a confusing take on the subject. Because some women were pampered or spoiled growing up, somehow that means they and other women don’t understand that computers involve computing? Are you sure you thought this through?

[–]Wilddog73 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

Perhaps I overgeneralized, but I don't think there's any question that dumb entitled women can be surprisingly dumb about some topics.

Imagine thinking calculators don't use code...

[–]CoffeeWorldly9915 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Not all women, but definitely most.

[–]Wilddog73 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Now I'm doubly unsure. The story's mired in Male vs Female articles!

I wonder if there's a source we could use for evidence...

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We’ll said. And I think the attitude towards misandry IS changing though and even though at large it is still not taken as seriously as misogyny it has become a lot more visible and talked about. True the world at large is still letting women get away with shit but that is gonna change in a couple of years. I’m anxiously waiting the days when we can call women misandrists for wanting men to open doors for them 😁🍿

[–]Wilddog73 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm not so sure.

[–]GnomeChompy 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This deserves to be its own post.

[–]Wilddog73 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She tried to reply with a counter-article that contradicted it. It sounds to me like there's just a bunch of anti-men/woman posts out there arguing it out.

That said, if the lay-man can't determine whether the story is true, it's best to take the atheistic approach.

STFU misinformation/disinformation spreader:

http://factmyth.com/factoids/ada-lovelace-wrote-the-first-computer-program/

Attempting to rewrite history, shit-smear? Meet Charles Babbage, the "Father of the computer".

[–]CoffeeWorldly9915 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So, Ada was the mother of optimization?

[–]TFME1 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Apparently, the "Mother of Computer algorithms", not the mother of computer coding.

The term "bug", as in a software bug, was also coined by a woman... I'll have to refresh my memory what her name was, but computers, as with everything else in our society, are jointly developed by men and women, of every race, color, and creed, through varying means and varying levels of direct/indirect effort. Still, let's not listen to idiots and morons who want to rewrite history to fit their own selfish agendas.

EDIT: Her name was Grace Hopper.

[–]TFME1 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

There was also a gay male who saved the Allied nations, in WWII, and millions of their respective soldiers, through the advancement of computers and decryption: Alan Turing

Also, the CAPTCHA feature is based on his work to identify if AI is actually "sentient" and how to tell the difference between a computer and a human.

The Gas Mask was developed by a black man.

People in the US use Arabic Numbers/Notation, not Roman Numerals.

There's no shortage of contributions to society from any group within our society and prejudice is usually born out of ignorance and flawed assumptions.

The fastest way to cure prejudice is through the widest distribution of knowledge about the world around us. It's all out there to be found, if one only cares to look and has the imagination to ask the right questions and the proper ethics/morality to recognize the wrong questions & wrong answers.

[+]Breakula -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You don’t know who constructed anyone’s home. Why are you like this?

[–]CoffeeWorldly9915 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

While we don't know exactly who built whom's homes, we can be fairly certain that it wasn't predominantly women by a veeery wide margin.

[+]Breakula -7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

What were your contributions and sacrifices? How do you think you should be able to demand status and authority based on other people’s actions just because you’re also male? And I really hope you’re drunk or high and your writing isn’t always so incoherent.

[–]CoffeeWorldly9915 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

If you believe there's a "hystorical debt", you should be asking yourself about the same questions.

[+]Breakula -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

When did I say that?

[–]CoffeeWorldly9915 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Just sayin'.

If you ascribe to that belief (no idea if you personally do, but your comments suggest that you likely might, similar) it would be only logical to ask those questions. Although Erin and Cassie did and look how it went for them.

[+]Breakula -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]TheSnesLord 34 points35 points36 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Things like this have been said numerous times by several male opinion columns over the years. It doesn't change anything.

To enact change, what needs to happen is for men to unite in significant numbers and loudly and obnoxiously protest against the misandrist BS in real life. Make a nuisance of ourselves so the ones in charge have no choice to respond. That's the only way to make politicians, lawmakers and society listen to you. You have to make them slightly "fear" you, otherwise they're just going to laugh you off and ignore you.

Unfortunately the average man simply doesn't care and most men in general are white knighting gynocentric cretins who fall for the feminist victimhood BS. That's why nothing ever changes,

Credit to the writer for mentioning the London Underground/Magic Mike/Protein World Beach Body situation though, sexualization/objectification of men being okay with the same people (feminists and women) who complain about sexy women/female characters is a double standard I utterly despise.

[+]Distinct_Ad67591 points 4 years ago [recovered] (12 children) | Copy Link

This entitled attitude and perceived victim hood is why 98% of mass shooters are men. Stop ✋

[–]hehimCA 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wrong.

[–]BestGamerGigaChad 19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I mean, you come in here and calling everyone entitled with no valid arguments is really just showing that you're projecting your own entitlement onto us.

There are many reasons why that many mass shooters are men, you just need to get to the source of the problem instead of just saying that "98% of mass shooters are men".

Like for example, how society is very unsupportive of men with mental illnesses while being very supportive of women.

Being constantly reminded that you're the cause of every problems in the world is not very good for your mental health and it's not surprising that some men out there go on a rampage because of it.

But y'know, if we could all treat each other like human beings instead of accusing everybody of being "entitled" because they simply want support, then all of this would have been solved a long time ago.

[+]Distinct_Ad67591 points 4 years ago [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

Woman have their own struggles that men will never understand (same as dudes have struggles we won’t ever understand) but you don’t see us going around taking out other ppl like how men do just bc we’re miserable. We’re more likely to kill ourselves before feeling entitled to take another life. and ion wanna hear the mental illness bullshit excuse bc these shooters have enough sense to plan these calculated attacks.

[–]StormyDuudeYT 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I ain't saying more killers are women, but men are much more likely to kill themselves when they get depressed. While a larger proportion of killers are men, the ratio of female to male killers is proportionate to the number if female to male suicides, meaning that its not more likely for a guy to choose violence over suicide, jts just that more men get depressed and hurt and have the reasons to do it, making it more that men are hurt rather than aggressive

[+]Distinct_Ad6759 -15 points-14 points-13 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Look I'm not gonna waste my time arguing with some rando on the Internet who most likely believes they're right about everything and can't be wrong about anything because I've already had my experience with them in real life and frankly, I have other things to do, like working towards success and making a difference.

Frankly it doesn't even matter what you say right now because one day the world will realize this way before you could, I mean humans are predictable anyway.

I'll just give you a link to a video that sums up pretty much everything an pretty quickly. In the meantime, I hope you have a nice day.

And about this misery misandry so allowed: So men have been protecting and providing since the beginning of evolution and this is how they are thanked? How pitiful.

well your argument is that more mass shooters are men than women right? Well using your logic, considering women are a higher percentage of child abusers and child killers than men, you specifically should stop abusing children.

Mass shootings in the developed world are incredibly rare. They're a problem in the USA because no-one thought to amend the constitution to include the right to healthcare, but some nugget thought that everyone carrying weapons was a sound plan.
