So I feel compelled to first give some background to give some context and weight to this question: I have been a political journalist for the last eight years. I've covered the Ukranian revolution, been a foreign correspondent living in Berlin (I'm am American), worked for think tanks and even done some freelance work for the European Commision.

I'm a RP man through and through and there is very little about the core philosophy of TRP that I haven't seen validated personally. But the widespread support of Donald Trump seems to me to be either extremely misguided or purely emotional.

Theories:

-He has a hot wife -He's a businessman -He's anti-PC -He doesn't give a fuck

That's all great, but he is extremely out of his depth in terms of politics. He has no actual, realistic policy ideas or stances. He has literally no experience. He has no problems alienating entire groups of people in a democracy. He's rash. He is inconsistent. His foreign policy (my specialty) is so far removed from reality and even common sense as to be laughable if it wasn't so goddamn scary.

Now, don't give me some shit like "he's better than Hillary" or "at least he's not a woman." I don't like Hillary either--at all. What I'm talking about are things on the main sub I see fairly regularly like "Trump is our only hope." WTF? Only hope for what? A fucking tailspin into economic ruin, war and alienation in the international community? Somebody explain this to me.
