There was a debate, on Rich Cooper's channel (Entrepreneurs in Cars), between a psychologist Shawn Smith and Rollo Tomassi: BTT # 45 - Is Hypergamy Real? - Rollo v Dr. Smith

tldr the psych says hypergamy is very very rarely the cause of women leaving men. He was careful to point out that this was based on his experience and the demographic was limited.

This video is part of what led me to my epiphany on TRP and the guru course peddlers. Rich Cooper opens the debate with some totally irrelevant story about how he was shit tested on a date, at a bar, and passed and was offered sex in a public restroom which he turned down. He squeezed the word hypergamy in somewhere to try to make it relevant to the debate but it wasn't. It was embarrassing. It was as cringey as it was comical. "Hi I'm Rich Cooper and I can fuck because I'm an alpha. On to my guests..." Then Rollo goes on for like 20 minutes talking and talking and talking- nice debate/s. The psych utters a few words and then Rollo goes on again with his diarrhea of the mouth jumping from point to point, from idea to idea. This goes on throughout the whole debate. It was obvious Rollo was intimidated by the psych. Here you have a person who trained and practices his profession and doesn't just latch on to ideas like the 80-20 statistic, derived from OKCupid. Rollo couldn't focus on one thing and make a point that could be debated, he just kept rambling. It is obvious he has accumulated a lot of talking points throughout his almost 20 years of being involved in TRP and PUA. I frequently see Rollo talking too much while on panels. He behaves as if he is an expert at a congressional hearing and everybody should take note. He just spews out a butt load of talking points leaving everyone juggling a multitude of his ideas. It leads nowhere and he never debates anyone (he admits this) where the split is 50-50. He always has a majority of yes-man around when challenging someone- which is rare. I must say, it was a joy to see him squirm.

Seeing and hearing this just solidified my need to go outside TRP community. It became one too many, 'take my word for it', stories about female conquest by the alpha content creator. One too many flexes of wealth ("I was wealthy before I entered TRP stage") from a guru who plasters everywhere their accounts where you can donate. One too many contradictions and faulty time lines in their path to becoming an expert on being alpha. I ignored all these red flags because I was broken and some of their points resonated with me. They had solutions that were wise: maintain your health, work hard, be well groomed, lift, just to name a few. The part that I felt was a detriment are the ideas that lead to cynicism or the Black Pill. Often I hear them distancing themselves from the MGTOW or the Black Pill community yet they espouse to ideas such as 'she's not yours, it's just your turn', 80-20 rule and a vary primal view on hypergamy as it relates to human females. Again, just to name a few. They offer up statistics that are never scrutinized. They do entire bits about anecdotal situations of extreme human behavior. I often found myself not relating to the stats, situations and ideas they discuss. I find their reaction videos to be quite entertaining. What urks me there is that they try to relate extreme human behavior to all people. I could go on and on.

I am glad you guys are here. I look forward to this community.
