I can't help but roll my eyes whenever I read shit like "Oh sexwork is so empowering and makes you confident!!!" Always the same privileged people trying to push this fucked up agenda that sex work is work and not "tHaT bAd." I gave up on refinery29 years ago when I noticed they were posting love spells and everyday witchcraft tips to keep a man. That was harmless fluff but sex work is very dangerous for young girls. The industry is full of human trafficking and exploitation all for male benefit. They should be ashamed of themselves pushing this narrative.

I was unfortunately pushed into that industry at 19 and did it for about a year. I once heard someone say on a podcast “once you remove one boundary who says what will happen when you remove another and another and where does it stop?” I had a shit ton of followers and after the initial excitement of the money hitting my account wore off the mental health issues hit. They hit hard. I remember once I met this older guy at a motel and gave him a foot job. Yeh cool I made 350 bucks for 45 minutes but the disgust I felt after was something I never want to feel again. I used that money for something which I finally got rid of this year. Anyway. My point is the damage it does to your mental health is not worth all the money in the world.

Edit-another thing I failed to mention is the severe scamming that goes on in the camming industry. Guys pay you or say they will pay you and then they never do. There’s all sorts of tricks they pull and the humiliation when you realize you shoved something up your ass for a hundred bucks that you will never even see…it literally fucks with your head. People really don’t get it

As a retired sugar baby I’m really tired of seeing this shit.
