This poor boy being blackmailed by the girls dad. :/

(edited comment due to misinformation)

"Guilty until proven innocent" - Welcome to tyranny.

[–]Zauxst 36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Shot first, ask questions later.

Happy Cake day

Thank you civilian.

[–]Disastrous-Dress521 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That implies you asked questions later

[–]Zauxst 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well... if you get answers you need to shoot again.

[–]aknabi 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And even after proven innocent still considered guilty… the Amber rule

[–]moriginal 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This seems more like a function of their system.

The girls parents were extorting him for money and he was jailed on their complaint alone (not hers).

[–]needalife94 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yea you're right. I'm sorry. I'll change my statement as is incorrect.

[–]blucivic1 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, if they read the article then they would know this isn't a "believe all women" situation

[–]needalife94 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was at work so I couldn't read the article. Works wi fi is trash.

[+]OutofNowhere4 -48 points-47 points-46 points 4 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

'Believe all men' is how every single person on this thread believes this guy without ANY evidence at all that this was a false accusation.

I don't know the facts of the case. No one does. But it appears most people don't care and have decided this was a false accusation based on his word alone.

That seems like the exact same as 'believe all women' to me. Just believing all men.

[–]needalife94 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

There is no believe all men movement. Also my statement obviously only applies if he was telling the truth. You are right. We don't have the facts to know if it was a false accusation. We also don't have the facts to know if it was real.

[+]OutofNowhere4 -34 points-33 points-32 points 4 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

Correct. And no one on this thread assumed he was guilty. Yet everyone assumed he was innocent. Even though there was no evidence either way.

Seems more like believe all men.

[–]dzirian 32 points33 points34 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

That is what innocent until proven guilty means

[+]OutofNowhere4 -27 points-26 points-25 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Innocent until proven guilty DOES NOT mean assume the accuser is a liar without any evidence. And that's what people seem to be doing.

[–]dzirian 27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Well, that is exactly what it means, that without evidence to your accusations, assumption is that you're a liar

[+]OutofNowhere4 -7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Wow... wrong.

[–]notyoubrah 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Correct. You are very wrong.

[–]OutofNowhere4 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

So if an 8 year old boy says his female teacher is touching him, we should just assume he is lying if he can't prove it?

That sounds okay to you?

[–]arbelhod 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, yeah it is

[–]No-Satisfaction-2320 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Except the girl herself admitted that the rape didn't happen. But go on I guess.

[–]needalife94 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If you read the article it states that the girls parents are the ones who accused him. Even the girl of the parents said that it didn't happen. So I guess I was wrong about this case being "believe all women" thing. I was wrong. But it is still fucked up that the guy was arrested and put into jail even with the girl saying it didn't happen.

[–]OutofNowhere4 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The only time it was said the girl said nothing happened was the suicide note. No other evidence it was said.

[–]needalife94 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh my bad. You're right. The article also has a quote from the father saying that the father of the girl was blackmailing the son and the son has already paid the man 10 something. (don't know their currency) They have also filed a report of blackmail with the police.

[–]Algoresball 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Innocent until proven guilty

[–]arbelhod 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't say that there are no evidence

[–]ifandbut 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Was there evidence on either side? I prefer to believe no one until I see evidence that something happened.

[–]OutofNowhere4 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good concept. Although not the overwhelming opinion here it seems.

[+]nosox -19 points-18 points-17 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Careful now, if you're not blindly decrying feminism you run the risk of being downvoted.

[–]cookiemonster123i 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's innocent until proven guilty, not guilty until proven innocent. She's supposed to prove that he is guilty, not the other way around.

[–]OutofNowhere4 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Surely the calm and rational people of reddit will evaluate my claims and respond to my viewpoint accordingly.

Downvoting my very logical opinion would be an admission of blindly supporting men and assuming women are lying without evidence. That... won't happen.

[–]cookiemonster123i 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How is it logical. You're going by the principle of guilty until proven innocent. He's not responsible of proving his innocence, it's her responsibility to prove his guilt.

[–]OutofNowhere4 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I never once said he was guilty. And it's the courts job to prove his guilt. Not hers.

[–]No-Satisfaction-2320 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The girl herself admitted that the rape didn't happen though?

"When you doubt a victim you're playing the judge, jury and executioner."

Yeah. Sure.

[–]TextDependent6779 95 points96 points97 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

when you believe a victim, you're playing judge, jury, and executioner.

[–][deleted] 39 points40 points41 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Yes. I hear people making the argument that you should always call the police at the least, but that alone is enough to tear a man's life apart, and in the current state of world politics, a man's life is more vulnerable to destruction by accusation than a woman's. Yes women are often disbelieved and mistreated when it comes to sex, the same happened to my girlfriend, but this is simply more likely to happen to men.

[+]FH-7497 -19 points-18 points-17 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Has it happened to you?

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

No. Have you been shot? That still happens. Have you been kidnapped? That still happens. Just because it doesn't happen to me, or to you, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

[+]FH-7497 -8 points-7 points-6 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I didn’t say any of those things. According your your “more likely to happen to men” reasoning, shouldn’t you have? I mean you said your girlfriend did. It’s just strange that someone’s anecdotal reference disproves their assertion

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My "anecdotal reference" doesn't disprove my assertion, it's purpose was to prove a separate point, being that I recognize these things happen to women as well. The "anecdotal reference" has little to do with the assertion itself.

As for my question

Why TF did you choose "anecdotal reference"?

[–]FH-7497 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Lmao dude false accusations happen but they’re not more common than women being harassed wtf are you on about. And weird that you like honed in on my phrasing choice like that matters somehow. I could have just said “lived experience” instead. Have good day. Glad you haven’t been falsely accused, sorry your girlfriends been harassed.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I didn't say false accusations were more common than women being harassed. What I'm saying is that in the case of a man being falsely accused vs. a woman being raped/sexually harrased it's more likely and far more easy for the media to destroy a man's life, career, relationships, reputation etc.

[+]OutofNowhere4 -17 points-16 points-15 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You should always call the police and make a report. Even if there is not enough evidence, they may be other cases that can establish a pattern.

[–]shdai 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

you have no idea how shit happens in India

[+]OutofNowhere4 -17 points-16 points-15 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That's why I refuse to believe the victim of this suicide. It's not my place to judge this woman or her parents.

Unless you meant not to believe female victims and I still should believe male victims.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Personally I believe everyone should be considered, but no one should be immediately believed. Belief causes action, legal or not. And action is always dangerous, especially when the cause for said action are uncertain.

[–]shdai 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

you can believe neither and you're just talking out your ass or believe both and be confused

[+]OutofNowhere4 -17 points-16 points-15 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

These things need to be settled in court with a trial. Like this one was. And he was found guilty.

[–]shdai 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

indian courts are heavily biased against men.

[–]yettobekilledbydeath 94 points95 points96 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Another victim on the long list of false accusations that "rarely happen"...

[+]OutofNowhere4 -32 points-31 points-30 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Is there ANY evidence this was a false accusation?

[–]doctor_doob 51 points52 points53 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The article says that even the alleged victim said nothing happened, it was her parents.

[+]OutofNowhere4 -7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The suicide note says that. Not the article.

[–]doctor_doob 27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're right. I suppose the case of alleged blackmail may shed light. I can't find any articles with more information.

[–]cookiemonster123i 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

is there any evidence that he's guilty? the accused is not responsible of proving himself innocent, it's the other way around.

[+]OutofNowhere4 -7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Right. So the information from the trial would be helpful. I at no point assumed he was guilty because I don't know what happened at trial. Article doesn't say.

[–]cookiemonster123i 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The article claims that he was picked up and arrested based solely on an accusation. It seemed like her parents have authority and she didn't say anything. Things work like that in India

[–]OutofNowhere4 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The article did not say she didn't say anything and the article didn't discuss what evidence they had to pick him up.

That's why I chose not to make assumptions.

I have no clue how the justice system works in India, but I know you can't assume she was lying just because of a suicide note. That's definitely not how the justice system works.

[–]shdai 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

but here's something you have to keep in mind. the father of the girl was blackmailing him.

IDK in what world a father just blackmails a rapist after raping his daughter. violence and murder make sense to me but not blackmail because the former are acts of vengeance the latter is more an economic crime done over a long period of time. what would the father's thought process be ? "he fucked my daughter might as well milk him for the experience?"

Do you wanna know what is common in India? fake rape cases. and girl's families extorting men for cash. right now 10 million is the usual amount these leeches try to get. so yeah. you can argue that the article didn't show anything. but let me tell you something. there are dickless judges making verdicts that are sexist against men in India. "beating from wife is a blessing" "women don't have to work but husband has to pay money to her no matter what" these are just 2 of the several judgements these criminal judges send out.

so you can argue that the article doesn't specifically say this or that. and you're right. but then life isnt directed by M. night Shyamalan

[–]OutofNowhere4 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There's no evidence the father is blackmailing him. You just decided to believe that without any evidence.

[–]shdai 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

read the statement by the kid's dad. and in case you wanna say it's a he said she said type of deal. it's also been registered with the cops. which unlike rape needs some evidence. so there.

[–]SecondEldenLord 57 points58 points59 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

And yet another one falls for the metoo movement. And feminists wanna believe that these false rape cases are "rare".

[–]mixing_saws 38 points39 points40 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Even if they are rare, its still wrong to believe all women. Innocent until proven guilty, thats what our legal system is build upon.

[–]SecondEldenLord 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Correction, that's what the legal system WAS built on.

[–]aknabi 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They’re just collateral damage… a small price to pay for women’s “justice”

[–]SecondEldenLord 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And that is the problem, men like this guy are just collateral. I even saw women commenting something like "well, he could've raped someone in the future". Absolutely disgusting comment.

[–]blucivic1 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Did you read the article? The parents made the accusation and were blackmailing him.

[–]SecondEldenLord 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And why didn't the daughter stopped them?

[–]blucivic1 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably bc she's a woman in India.

[–]OutofNowhere4 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Why is this a false rape case? Because he said so?

It's his word versus a guilty conviction in the court and you believe him?

Why?

[–]cookiemonster123i 19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Is there a proof that he's guilty? He's innocent until proven guilty, that's the default.

[–]OutofNowhere4 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right. We don't know what happened in court. The important details that the article left out for some reason. I have no idea if he's guilty.

[–]arbelhod 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You know innocent until proven otherwise? So otherwise wasn't proven

[–]SecondEldenLord 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well first of all, there was no proof so he is guilty till proven innocent, second of all, do you think psychotic rapists kill themselves just like that? Do you think they have any guilt or regret? No, rapists wanna stay alive so that they can do it again one day.

Maybe he was a rapist or maybe he wasn't but considering he killed himself, I doubt it.

[–]DirtyPartyMan 23 points24 points25 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Another victim of the matriarchy

[–]Eastwood96 26 points27 points28 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Both her parents should serve life without the possibility of parole. Fuck them both and fuck whoever granted the guilty verdict.

[–]OutofNowhere4 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

You do have to appreciate the irony of complaining about innocent until proven guilty while simultaneously requesting someone be locked up without a trial or even any evidence that they did anything wrong.

[–]Eastwood96 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

Personally, I never understood how anyone could be against "Innocence until proven guilty," as it's a reasonable condition designed to ensure guilt before charges. Otherwise, we could ALL be in jail, simply because of something someone says--THEN, what?? Overall, this case is a very special kind of FUCKED UP. Now, I may have missed something, but from what I gather, it sounds like:

  1. There were no witnesses

  2. No rape kit or DNA test was done

  3. The girl, HERSELF, even specified she hadn't been assaulted

  4. The boy doesn't even appear to be physically able to commit such crime (at least, not without additional involvement)

  5. The system, having 0 evidence or forensic data, took the word of two people who saw nothing, over that of the actual "victim" who denied anything ever happened.

In this day and age, having a dick and balls is a life sentence in itself.

🖕⚖️🖕⚖️🖕⚖️🖕⚖️🖕⚖️🖕⚖️🖕⚖️🖕⚖️🖕⚖️🖕

[–]OutofNowhere4 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

None of that was in the article. Did you find another source?

And this woman wasn't found guilty. Nor were the parents. Yet you want them in jail.

What about innocent until proven guilty?

[–]Eastwood96 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

No, I just looked for info. on evidence/witnesses and none were mentioned.

[–]OutofNowhere4 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

And the article not mentioning any evidence means there isn't any? That seems like a leap. They didn't discuss the trial at all.

[–]Eastwood96 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I figured it would've mentioned evidence and/or witnesses, but since the allegations were false, anyway, I don't see how there could be any.

[–]OutofNowhere4 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

False accusations are a crime. And you assume she's guilty without a trial or any evidence to suggest she is guilty. And you still don't get the irony?

[–]Eastwood96 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

"She??" I'm talking about evidence against the boy.

[–]OutofNowhere4 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You said the allegations were false. Which means you are accusing someone of a crime with no evidence that they committed a crime. Should you not be charged with making false accusations?

innocent until proven guilty is a fucking myth for guys. Big part why guys dont wanna deal with girls. So easy that a rondom girl says someting with no proof her self. And boom your life is over. Why innocent until proven guilty is and should be a human right. Anyone can say a thing with no proof and fucking up somones life. And it does happen every day. Do people that do the horrible acts walk free? No ofcourse not but should you with no proof hell no. People act like girls cant fucking lie about things ever. Disgusting

Her parents were the ones who falsely accused, not her.

[–]Sbeast 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Totally fucked. Why did they believe the blackmailing parents over the girl.

"The girl's father had been blackmailing their son for money. He added that Rahul had already given Rs 10 lakh to the girl's father."

Big mistake. If you're innocent, why pay them money?

False accusers should be more heavily punished, and perhaps publicly exposed for their crimes. What else would disincentivize it?

My guess is that most people will never understand this.

[–]DaSchmoetzer 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

From what i can read, the girl isn't to blame, but her parents.

Was it proven to be a false allegation? If so, then that really sucks, and there should be consequences for the girl and her parents.

...if not, then just like we shouldn't believe "all women", we also shouldn't believe "all men"

Found guilty after a trial, “alleged false rape” because he said so…I’m not sure why I’m supposed to be upset about this

[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 31 points32 points33 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Its false rape because the girl has admitted that nothing happened between them.
Its a clear case of false-allegation and extortion....

[–]OutofNowhere4 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The girl has admitted no such thing. The suicide note says the girl admitted that.

There is exactly 0 evidence this was a false accusation that anyone can provide.

Exactly...I just commented something similar, although something tells me it too will get downvoted to oblivion lol

Just like we shouldn't believe all women, we also shouldn't believe all men.

Well, there is evidence of the father blackmailing him, the girl has already stated that nothing happened between them, those are the two biggest pieces of information, but beyond just that you'd need to ignore a lot of evidence in order to conclude that she was raped.

[–]OutofNowhere4 -5 points-4 points-3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There is no evidence of blackmail provided and the suicide note said the girl stated nothing happened. There's no evidence the girl said that.

What evidence are you talking about?

[–]gil-galad5150 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Because it is defamation of character . Glad you ae OK with that.

Those parents need to go to jail for both trying to extort him then falsely accusing him of rape even after the girl herself said he didn't rape her... How the hell does that happen? Rape victim not a victim at all and admits it.. Parents still file charges and even with no evidence and the girls testimony they still charge this boy? They need to he thrown in prison for his death. They cannot be allowed to get away with this. What the living hell
