I'm old enough to remember back in the 70s on a regular basis MANY misogynist men calling certain single women "angry virgins' or "mad lesbians" as a way to discredit their opinions and views during disagreements or debates. Those men did this to try to degrade single women they disagreed with down to the level of kids who are "not worthy of adult debate" or "not worthy of their time." This was very much a way to shut women down and gaslight them, so as to not having to consider their opinions and needs.

You can hear this said on old radio shows, TV shows, and even some movies from that era.

TODAY, calling single men you know nothing about 'incels" is dehumanizing in the same way.

Fantasizing that every guy you disagree with out there is a "angry virgin who can't get laid" and must be plotting of ways to 'hurt women' is fucking delusional, narcissist, and batshit paranoid. This is why I am drawing this parallel.

It also instigates paranoia, distrust, and hatred among people.. this is a bigoted thing to perpetuate. It is ANTI-HUMAN.

People use the same terms today that they did in the 70's. And today, just like back then, most people HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO INCLINATION of how offensive and disgusting it is to do that. The same people yelling out "incel" do not recognize that it was done to women the same way by the biggest BIGOTS, MYSOGINISTS, and RACISTS in the past.
