It’s quite literally just a bad argument and a horrible filtering mechanism. Before even beginning to unpack this argument, it should be noted that there’s nothing wrong with “just wanting to get laid” especially since men have higher sex drives and there should be no shame in this. With that being said, let’s address the argument.

First of all, if you’re a good manipulator, you’re not going to reveal your intentions. You can “play the long game” and tons of men do. The men playing the long game will never reveal their true intentions and simply pretend as if they love the woman, only to fuck them, and then dip. I bet every woman here has atleast one experience of this.

Secondly, a person who uses a lot of sexual language isn’t any more likely to only care about sex than one who doesn’t. A person can be looking for a deep relationship and still use more sexually charged language than someone who only cares about sex. This is especially true for men who have high sex drives and thus may be initially more sexually attracted to someone but still want to get to know the person more once the “sex is out of the way”.

Most importantly, if you’re a woman, and you’re wrong about a man’s intentions: what would hurt more? Spending a month getting to know a guy and finding out he only wanted you for sex? Or finding out a guy you met two days ago just wanted your for sex?

All in all, it’s just a horrible assumption that most women are perhaps conditioned to believe and yet most still believe it. I’m not exactly sure why.
