I’m just gonna list everything bc maybe there’s something that’s not obvious haha:)

Diet- if you eat at home, it is easy to eat healthy and it’s cheaper! Plus you will learn to cook which is very RPW. I use a simple formula for most dinners: a few different veggies (roasted, steamed, sautéed), a protein (tofu, salmon, or steak usually), a grain (quinoa, brown rice), and a salad (add fruits, seeds, and avocado/an oil based dressing for healthy fats). I like to try out new recipes too, but when it’s just for me, this works.
Exercise- I do 4 15 minute workout videos 5 days a week. I started with only 2 and worked up. I do mostly butt and abs, and I do have abs now after like a year of being consistent. I like Pamela Reif because her body is more realistic for me than the curvy fitness girls. I like Chloe ting because she’s really sweet. I want to get into lifting but I’m intimidated…
Skincare- retinol and sunscreen are the most important, but antioxidants, peptides, good moisturizing, and dermatologist treatments like microneedling and peels also help.
Makeup- I have a go to look (bb cream, soft cat eye, rosy blush, dewy highlight) but I like to try looks I find on tiktok and Pinterest to switch it up once in a while. It makes doing my makeup feel fun and playful instead of like a chore. Lately I’ve been adding pops of bright color, like a pink inner highlight or aqua under the eye.
Self-care day- once a week, I set aside a few hours to do a hair mask, a face mask (they don’t do much but it’s part of the ritual), dry brush, sugar scrub, shave, pluck my eyebrows, mani/pedi, & take a bubble bath w/ epsom salt. I usually light a candle and play calm music. It makes me feel recharged and feminine.
Hair- I am trying to grow my hair out, and some things I do are weekly hair masks (rosemary oil (which stimulates growth)+ coconut oil, sometimes I put an egg or an avocado), only washing my hair once or twice a week, using the curly girl method (even though my hair is more wavy, it’s helped me accept that my natural texture is pretty), only using heat on my bangs or once in a while if I want my hair straight or curled. On special occasions (bday, holidays, weddings) I really love getting my hair blown out at a salon, it’s not very expensive and it looks so nice. Also, I found out that wispy bangs look good on me, and my hairdresser trims them for free (I tip her). Try different hair styles wrt bangs/parts bc it might make a big difference.
Body- I use eucerin intensive repair body lotion because it has AHA which is exfoliating and anti-aging, and then layer a scented lotion on top. I also like to use body oil, or even just baby oil bc it smells cute, on my arms and legs if they’re exposed to give a model-y look. Scrubby gloves are nice for exfoliating in the shower.
Nails/hands/feet- I get gel mani/pedis monthly, I would do it more but I’m a broke student lol. I do the baby foot peel 3x per year, it’s so satisfying bc it makes your skin peel off like a snake. I have a scrubby sponge thing to use on my feet in the shower every day, I think doing that keeps them soft. I oil my cuticles every night, you can use any oil. I use spf hand cream which is kind of extra but whatever.
Teeth- I use crest white strips, and I’ve found that sensodyne works well for the sensitivity. Also, get a tongue scraper and waterflosser.
Style- I get 99% of my clothes from thrift stores or poshmark. It’s cheap plus it’s better for the environment/workers. Tbh I don’t really understand spending a lot of money on clothing because I don’t think it makes you look prettier? It depends on your style and body type, but I like to dress kind of girlish so I sometimes have good luck in the kids section.
Fragrance- pick a signature fragrance. I wear princess by Kilian, and I also use hair and body products that smell like something edible (vanilla, coconut, cotton candy) and men compliment it regularly.

Non-appearance 1. Posture- I tried to make this a habit at work, and doing that helped me integrate it into when I’m not at work. I notice that it boosts my confidence and makes me feel more positive and feminine. 2. Eating slowly- tbh I was always a fast (and kind of messy) eater. During meals, I have been trying to slow down and eat in a mindful, feminine way. This is probably also good for people who have problems with overeating. 3. Meditation- I meditate right when I wake up for about 30 min, every single day. I use the headspace app bc it feels really accessible for a beginner. What made me start was hearing the fact that three weeks of meditation for only 10 min per day changes the brain structure visibly, it thickens the neocortex (higher brain functions) and shrinks the amygdala (fight or flight center). It helps me in everything I do and it’s enjoyable. 4. Reading- I don’t really like tv and I recently stopped using social media (except Reddit and YouTube which I limit to an hour here and there) and it made me realize that I wasted a lot of time with something that made me feel worse. Using reading as way to relax instead of going on my phone has brought me so much peace and lots more knowledge. 5. Hobbies- I used to get really overwhelmed because I had a desire to try so many hobbies. Now, I try one at a time for 3 months. I wanted to learn to garden, so I volunteered at my local community garden and I learned so much, for free. I would also recommend looking for free/donation yoga. Next, I’m going to get back into flamenco dance:) one last tip: if your partner knows how to do something, like guitar or shooting or sailing or whatever, ask him to teach you! It’s a really fun way to connect and it will make him feel very captain-y.

Learning to do your hair. Even if you’re just wearing jeans and a t shirt, if your hair is done, you will still look elevated and put together. I used to think that because I have straight hair, I didn’t need to do anything to it. It certainly fits the look if I’m going for a more grungey/boho vibe that day, but if I want to channel classically feminine, I need to style my hair. I swear by these curling tiara things that you can get anywhere on amazon or etsy now! Takes 5 mins and it looks like you got a blow out!
Doing your nails. Whoever said guys don’t pay attention to that stuff is being a little too generalizing lol. My man specifically pointed out to me that it would be nice if I got my nails done, and has been taking care of that for me since he mentioned it. Most men don’t like the ultra long or sharp nails, but some of them absolutely appreciate simple and elegant manicured nails.
How beautiful/expensive your makeup is counts for less if your skin isn’t in its best condition. Target addressing skin issues > looking for ways to conceal and distract. In the short term, of course it’s fine, but if you have chronic acne or dry skin, it’s worth investing more in skincare/dermatology than in makeup.
That being said, having a signature makeup look you know enhances your features is great. I learned that I don’t look amazing with heavy eye makeup and look best with a thin wing, light mascara, and some blush. Oh and brows. I either dye them or fill them in.
Find the colors that flatter you. Color season theory is tricky, but if you can figure out what generally flatters your skin tone and what doesn’t, you will always look healthy and glowing. I look good in bold and deep colors and awful in dusty, muted colors. I make sure to have at least one bold or deep color in every outfit I wear, and try my best to stay away from muted colors around my face/torso.

I really invested in quality make up and that has made a big difference.

Lifting weights, hitting step goal, and counting calories/macros.

I am getting ready to begin Invisalign.

I joined a service group, junior board, and a Bible study to make friends and have more hobbies. Considering a book club, dance fitness class, and a public speaking class.

Making sure I buy classic quality clothes that flatter my body type.

Things I already did.... That others might find helpful.

Create a budget that is within your means, pay off your debt, start saving for retirement.

I watched some hair videos and a few of them recommended oiling your hair before you shower. So I put sweet almond oil or Grapeseed oil on my hair from my ears down and put it in a bun a few hours before I shower. My hair is so soft and smooth now.

I did intermittent fasting to lose weight and then whole30 and I lost the last 5 pounds.

I keep my nails in an almond shape with clear polish to keep them strong and neat and when the polish chips you can't tell.

I always have my eyebrows shaded in even if I’m only wearing sunblock and a little concealer. I’m a redhead so I have my eyelashes dyed darker too for a flawless natural look. Great skin can make makeup almost unnecessary.

A few nice pieces of matching metals jewellery will elevate any look.

I don’t drink or smoke and hydrate all day and sleep 9 hours a night.

TCA peels every 4-5 months for face, neck/chest and hands.

Sunblock and tretinoin daily.

Lingerie that matches.

Tailored clothing! I do a lot of shopping for vintage designer clothes and I have them tailored to fit like a glove.

Don’t eat crap and lift weights.

Practice good posture and walking gracefully.
