That’s so fucked up! The woman makes a fraudulent claim against him only for him to get arrested, be suspended from his job pending an investigation, and he was left at an impasse where he had to commit suicide because he was overcome with betrayal, deception and had no on to turn to.

[+]NormalPossible7573 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He had 5 kids (3 bio children and 2 step). You also instantly lose custody of your children once arrested. So he got suspended from his job, lost custody of his children and most likely lost his home temporarily as I imagine he wouldn’t be allowed to be there with his children home (but not sure how that works). I’m sure he felt hopeless and as if his world was caving and he lost everything, sad.

Sorry I didn’t mean to reply to your comment lol

[+]mountainducky -7 points-6 points-5 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Fraudulent because why?

[–]Inside-Common-8301 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women do make fraudulent claims of physical or sexual assault against men and even other women.

[–]tanen55[S] 34 points35 points36 points 3 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

this is a horrible story and I feel terrible for his child.

We need to stop automatically believing the women when these allegations arise. the facts need to come before the consequences.

[–]throwawayincelacc 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Gotta love presumptive guilt when it’s men. Gotta make sure to post his name everywhere and call him a rapist because that’s how headlines are made, even when there’s no proof. We should fine news agencies that report the man’s name before any guilty conviction. $500,000 that goes to the victim of defamation would definitely keep things more fair for men in news.

[–]tanen55[S] 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Those are great points. I think holding the media responsible is a great idea for a lot of reasons and not all of them have anything to do with mensrights.

Remember the Atlanta Olympic bombing suspect? Eric Rudolf? the media destroyed his life even though the evidence against him was tenuous at best.

[–]StitchPerfectArt -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

this guy was a high school principal. worked with kids for YEARS. and he chose a childrens amusement park to take his life? knowing thousands of people, parents and children would be in attendance on a weekend the most busy day of the week. He wanted his narrative to be pushed. I’m waiting to hear the full story because things have already come out about him. everything about it is suspicious.

[–]tanen55[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ooohh, Thanks for the info. Yes that does put a different spin on things for sure.

[–]StitchPerfectArt 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

More will come out for sure. Keeping an open mind because we all know how quickly misinformation spreads online. And we honestly probably will never know the full picture unfortunately.

[–]cookiesandmilk01 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, he’s a weirdo for sure. His post was meant to cause the same reaction. Look what you did to me!! Narcissist

[–]TurbulentFlow7145 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Imagine hating someone for being angry and spiteful that you causes them to lose your career you were devoted to because of a false accusation and a broken legal system? What type of silly person could ever be angry in such a scenario

[–]Deathangel5677 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That amusement park where his dad was a music director all his life and he had worked too. It's probably a place he has lots of memories of hence why he probably chose the place where he felt as peace, even a basic Google search will tell you about his background. Suicide victims in a lot of cases have chosen locations where they feel at peace.

[+]StitchPerfectArt -7 points-6 points-5 points 3 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

If you look into it he has been arrested before for Domestic violence and cruelty to a child not likely to product great bodily harm. This man isn’t exactly a saint. If cops don’t witness DV, they have to have evidence. If they took him to jail that night then she probably had marks on her. sounds like the law was coming down on him and he took the easy way out. The whole story will come out soon and people will dig more things up. Think about it. He chose DISNEYLAND to kill himself. he knew it would make the news. He knew people would look him up on facebook. he chose facebook - a public social media platform to post a public suicide note when most of the time those are personal if ever left. This guy seems like a narcissist who took the easy way out. There’s two sides to every story.

[–]NormalPossible7573 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

In California we have zero policy dv laws and a “no drop policy”. Once police are called, someone’s getting arrested even if the caller says they lied and there is zero evidence. There is no getting out of it and no way to drop the charges. The only way to get rid of them is to be found not guilty through trial and the DA. Which could take years, meaning no work all that time. California also considers non physical/violent acts as dv. Let’s say they were arguing and he threw the remote on the ground (not touching her) that’s considered DV and if the kids were home and didn’t even see it, it’s child endangerment. He was charged with a misdemeanor which translates to the children being in a situation that wasn’t likely to cause harm or physical injury to them. As far as Disney, (not saying what he did was right) he basically grew up there because his father worked at Disney for like 40 years. He was the Music Director for CA and FL for part of his time there. His father is also known as a “musical legend” composing many pieces for Disney as well as other theme parks around the world. Chris also worked at Disney as well. I personally think he chose Disney because that’s what maybe felt like “home” to him and also yes, to make the news…to bring awareness in regards to how men are treated towards DV with “no evidence”. Of course us on the outside have no idea what really went on and I have no idea what to think at this point but I just wanted to share what I knew with you.

[–]mountainducky 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Disgusting to do this at Disneyland, “felt like home”? Jesus, then shoot your self in your car not expose your death to children and families.

[–]StitchPerfectArt -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I really appreciate the updates!! never knew any of that about his past. Also wasn’t aware of that bizarre california rule but i’m not surprised considering the type of laws California implements. That’s why I wanted to wait until I heard more about the situation I don’t like prejudging anything as there’s two sides to every story. I feel there will be more released on the situation. The wife is going to have to give a statement. Already “death threats” going towards her and whatnot it’s going to get worse. It’s just an all around horrible situation

[–]LouisdeRouvroy 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Also wasn’t aware of that bizarre california rule

That's not bizarre. It's the norm in most places. Anything hints of DV, HE is in jail and done for.

[–]NormalPossible7573 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, the state of California whole heartedly thanks O.J. Simpson for getting these dv laws pushed into place.

[–]mountainducky 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Take my upvote because you are right.

[–]bitch-fil-a 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

yeah show proof

[–]NormalPossible7573 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where does it say he was arrested before on DV and child endangerment? I find that highly unlikely because if that was the cause, he wouldn’t have been working as a Principle, especially in Orange County.

[–]smittydoodle1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

How long ago was he arrested for DV? This is another arrest?

[–]StitchPerfectArt1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

This was in september of this year. I have a screenshot of it but can’t post it here in the comments

[–]smittydoodle 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Could you link or DM it? Isn’t that arrest the one he’s referring to in his suicide note?

Edit: oh wait, I forgot his note said this happened two weeks ago, not in September.

[–]EmbarrassedStorm2186 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not even a month ago, November 2022

[–]NormalPossible7573 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Someone said he was arrested once before in September for dv and “had proof” but “wasn’t able to post the screen shot.” My question was directed at that person but I guess they deleted their comment. That too is why someone else said to show proof because it sounds like nonsense.

[–]Deathangel5677 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So I searched Google and everything due to people peddling this claim that he has previous charges, but none of them ever provides any proof.

[–]Serious-Industry5083 -5 points-4 points-3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

the lesson of this story isn’t to not believe women when they claim they’re being abused, you sick fuck.

The lesson of the story is to not assume an accusation a woman makes is true unless there is evidence to prove otherwise. I apply the same for men

my brother and sister knew this guy personally bc they went to the middle school he worked at, they said that they remember him being really nice and outgoing. praying for his family and kids

[–]allislost81 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He was very kind and respected, both my daughters attended and still attend the school and he was loved. This is a shocker

[–]Born-Worldliness9804 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What really gets my goat are all those folks leaving 'kind' comments about the 'poor man' suffering from depression, anxiety, and what not. There is nothing in his post to suggest he was suffering from anything before he was falsely accused by his wife, and everything suggests that it was the pain of the false accusation, and the wheels it set into motion that made him kill myself. Such a shame. Also, what kind of messed up system continues persecuting a man even after the complainant keeps 'trying to clear my name with little success'.

Such a shame.

[–]Isair81 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The ’Zero Tolerance’ policies & laws are one factor, the other is cops & prosecutors who could give a shit less about facts, guilt or innocense, it’s all about arrests for the cops, and convictions for the prosecutor.

I’m gonna speak on this issue cus I have just been through this. - my wife ( at the time ) came home drunk after a dinner date with friends. We get into a yelling argument about ‘drinking and driving ‘ and I proceed to leave the house and go for a walk to cool off, but she starts grabbing me from the arm and from my shirt so hard that my shirt rips; I tug on the part of the shirt where she tore it while she still holding it and she falls. She calls police cus she’s drunk and says something to the affect of “ iM goNnA tElL thEm yOu hIt mE “ ( drunk ) I laugh! And go on my walk; when I get back there’s police there. Instantly I’m put in handcuffs. I tell them my side of the story; and they obviously don’t believe me; my now sobering wife sees me being arrested and tells them she doesn’t want to press charges but the sheriffs don’t need her to press charges because of California laws. That’s all it took! I’ve never been arrested ; me and the old lady have never had any issues like this, cops have never been to our house for any reason. - I’m taken in to jail on domestic violence ; with no bail at first, Sit in jail until court 3 days later; finally get a bail and I bail out . My whole life was upside down; literally lost everything in a heart beat. I get another court date for 3 months in the future. The agony of not knowing what was gonna happened, the nightmares, feeling like I was guilty and everyone knew. But I wasn’t going down without a fight! - Finally the court date comes and I go ready to beat this case! I show up to court and I’m not on the court docket; the DA dropped the case the day of! It was a shock but at the same time I was a little mad after all that ; I’m in Orange County, Ca. Most likely went to the same jail and the same court as this individual might of gone to. I divorced my wife after this; I wouldn’t wish this false accusations on my worse enemy. But also; fight the good fight; don’t let this kind of women destroy a good person. I was prepared to fight the case once I snapped out of my funk of being stuck in jail. But also another tip if any of you end up in this situation; * if the cops show up ; they’re going yo take 1 of you. Make sure if things are cooled down and it was all it mistake that 1 of you leave immediately before cops get there !!

I know it sounds strange for a man who took his own life – and when he did it under such unfair and unjust circumstances too – but the words he wrote in that suicide note seem...almost peaceful. Like he had come to terms that there was no way forward. He didn't call down vengeance on those who had wronged him, or spend any time feeling sorry for himself. Instead he just dwelled on positive memories and expressed how happy he was to get to say goodbye to everyone before he left, and then he chose to highlight problems with laws and processes that run afoul of the concept of "innocent until proven guilty", where a single false accusation can irrevocably ruin someone's entire life. Their career, status, friendships, health, marriage...everything is just gone in a single instant, and the systems that do all those things to men are considered functional and acceptable, so much that there will be significant resistance to changing them, even though in this case they are ultimately responsible for this man's death.

[–]Training-Rich5057 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Once again false allegations. When is the madness going to stop?

[–]TurbulentFlow7145 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It will stop when us men start banding together fighting for our rights.

I can tell you one thing for sure, from my experiences at least, most women have very little empathy for men, and a considerable amount of women will pursue objectives that advantage them with no concern whether these objectives are detrimental to men. So if we don't fight for ourselves nobody will.

[–]Training-Rich5057 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree.

[–]Working_Reference429 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

His FB post reads classic narcissist ("look how wonderful I am," "it’s all her fault," "I would never hurt anyone" "the system is against me"Then he throws himself off a parking structure at the end of one of the busiest days of the week at Disneyland holiday light parade, when hundreds of families with small children on the tram and headed to the parking garage to go home. He jumped near the escalators and bathrooms. This violence was witnessed by many people and children. People save up to go to Disneyland, to lift their spirits, to give their kids smiles and memories.

For a guy that worked with children his whole life, to subject so many children to such trauma is sickening. Looking a body that smashed into the ground from 10 stories is a grotesque sight. Not to mention, he quite possibly could have killed someone had he landed on them. There’s so much we will never know, but anyone who reads his goodbye FB post must admit that it does not read like a remorseful depressed farewell. He wanted his wife (secret wife?) to suffer. He preaches about the dangers of anger, yet look at the pain caused by his final act of anger. He didn't see the hypocrisy. He wanted revenge.

For the people immediately calling the wife a liar and blaming her... I'm worried about the women in your life. A lot of "fuck those lying women" comments here, jesus. Admit you don't know. Don't try to push your evil woman narrative. And you're making claims about what ended her previous marriage--how would ANYone know that unless you were her ex-husband? You're stalking her? You're putting her in danger! She has 2 kids! Stop with the false accusations, seriously.

Aside: Some teen boy who reads this will take your false accusations to heart and react with anger when the girl he asks to a dance says no. But if he's a good dude, and a good friend, and he puts himself out there (it's hard, but get out from behind your computer, friend), he'll find a cool girl that likes him. Read, watch films, have hobbies, get good at a trade... you'll meet interesting like-minded women. Oh and also: Don't be angry and creepy like some of the posts here.

Back to the point: I know nothing about their situation, but statistically speaking, it's far more often that abuse is not reported at all, compared to false accusations. Something went down that night that scared the wife. The children are witnesses. Let the police do their job.He made sure his wife will blame herself for years to come. He doesn't have to deal with the mess he made. Hope she and her children are able to get some help. The poor kids.

End note: I do think the system is unfair for men when it comes to custody and other childcare related issues. I also think men's paternity leave should be just as long as maternity leave. The child benefits so much from having both parents there. Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a big proponent of equality in this regard, and represented men (Charles Mortiz) who were caregivers and looking to be treated equally as women under the law.

Wishing peace for everyone affected by this public suicide.

[–]allislost81 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Both my daughters and our community has had the pleasure of having him as our principal. When i heard this news I was very saddened by it. I didn't know him personally, but he was very involved with the kids. I remember during Covid, he even drove to our neighbors house to wish her a happy birthday and played a song for her. However, I do agree that it's strange that he would go to this extent. He didn't become a principal and musician out of luck. This was a man that educated, well spoken and very coherent. He was arrested on 11/17 and his court date was today. So its baffling that whatever transpired in literally 3 weeks would push this man to plan his suicide. If you ask me, I think he felt betrayed by both his family and the system. He taught in the school system for decades and to be arrested and shamed like that was too much for her. I totally don't agree with how he handled it, but i do understand that we all have our own demons and some of us deal with it better than others. We also don't have the entire story so I won't pass any judgment and I'll remember him for all the good he did in our community!

Do we know if children saw his body?

He was likely shooken by how one false accusation eliminated all of his life's hard work and knowing full well that society would consider him guilty regardless of the truth and bear no sympathy of empathy for him simply because he's a man. That can be traumatic, very traumatic, and lead to a downward spiral very abruptly.

I imagine if you feel so hurt that you are willing to take your life, and this hurt orginiated from somebody wronging you, then I would also assume that you are angry with said person, and would like to inflict pain on them, the same way a woman would despise her husband if he raped her and likely try to pursue him in the court of law hoping for some justice. In his case, there is no justice, she would bear no consequences for ruining his career, and no one would care either.
