I don't know about NEVER dating again, but I certainly can't be bothered with all the bullshit right now and I've been single for nearly 18months.

The idea of being dragged off to shit I don't care about to make someone else happy just isn't filling my cup in the slightest.

It's a daily thought of mine. I just don't care enough to even date anymore.

I'm 35. Decent looking, 5'10" 170lb, fit. Amazing job, making >200k. Flaws-wise: I'm bald and I'm definitely an asshole (Jordan Peterson's personality test has me as the 99-100th percentile for disagreeable people), so basically zero EQ. I've learned to be nicer but I absolutely will not put up with incompetence and sadly the world has a lot of that recently... I also have a 2yo daughter that unfortunately I've just had to walk away from because her mother became a babymomma terrorist when she was born and felt it was acceptable to make me homeless.

Anyway, the women I meet on dating apps are unfortunately just what seem to be the bottom of the barrel at this point - extremely emotionally damaged, unattractive or with major major baggage(single mothers multiple times over, saddled with extreme debt, leftists) - many times they're all of these! Why bother?

At this point, I'm coming to accept that I just enjoy spending time with my friends, hobbies or traveling.

I don't want to inflict me on another woman again.

As for going and doing stuff I don't want.to do, that comes in 2 different types for me. There are things I actively dislike and things i may not like but I don't dislike either. If the person I'm with wants me to go do something I don't actively dislike but just don't don't love, I'll still probably go do it and enjoy myself anyway just because I like being around that person. It's more who I'm with that what I'm doing that makes things fun for me.

I have been divorced for two years now. I’ve taken breaks from dating, yes because it’s not easy and very frustrating. Online dating seems to be the most popular method. I’ve met a few women IRL but that is few and far between.

I’ve told myself after a lot of bad dates that I was going to hang it up and just stay a lone. I do extremely well for myself during these times but limitless really starts to weigh in after time. When I do put myself back out there again I’ve been adopting the perspective of just having a good time with a woman not more. It helps me to enjoy that moment, the conversation, being out with “sometimes” a beautiful woman.

I hate that I’m saying this but I have had more success on FaceBooks dating app/section then anything else. It doesn’t have a paywall like all other dating apps. It does limit your swipes daily but the interaction to likes is crazy.

Overall I think perspective is everything. Taking breaks from dating is important. Know what you want before you even put yourself out there.
