After our unpleasant divorce, I attempted to co-parent with my ex, but she gathered evidence against me to change custody and we are back in court. She filed a contempt of court against me, and I responded with my own. Unfortunately, we both ended up in contempt.

My ex has two terrible lawyers who constantly belittle me and cast doubt on everything I say. They have successfully painted me as a villain, which is frustrating because I just want to move on with my life. Going to court has cost me over $50,000 that could have been better spent on my children.

My only means of communication with my ex is through an online platform, and my lawyer has suggested that we attempt to settle our disputes outside of court. We could drop our contempt's and mutually agree on how to divide our remaining assets, but my ex refuses. It's illogical because her lawyers are charging her tens of thousands of dollars each time we go to court, and there is no clear benefit and it is just making coparenting hard on us. and I can't wait until my kids are 18. I would run as far as I can.
