I believe that during the same time period that woman is allowed to have an abortion, a man should be allowed to opt out of fatherhood. Or more accurately, a man should have to opt-in in order to be declared the father. Some suggestions to making this equality work can be read here.

If, for example, I impregnated a woman, and felt I was not ready to be a father but the woman insisted on carrying the child to birth, I would fight in court to make sure that I wasn't held responsible for the child.

If the state forced me to pay child support, I would not pay it. I don't care what the consequences are. I would burn all my money I had left, and face years in prison if I could not escape this country in time. I would stand up for this principle. I find it utterly disgusting that men are not provided with the same post-conception reproductive rights as women. I would make it a mission not to voluntarily pay a penny in Child Support for a child I did not consent to be the father of.

What mensrights issue do you find yourself willing to stand up for?
