For those of you (probably the vast majority of you) who weren't aware, the My Little Pony community on Reddit ( /r/mylittlepony ) is currently in the midst of a semi-competitive charity drive with some of the other fan-communities ( /r/thelastairbender , /r/adventuretime , and /r/harrypotter ). Last year the competition raised over $25,000 for Doctors Without Borders and Engineers Without Borders, as well as years of computing time for research.

A lot of bronies take charity very seriously!

Whether it's The Red Pill, MR, Bronies,.. so long as the group doesn't put the vagina on a pedestal, it's ridiculed.

The insults are almost always has to do with women or is sexual in nature.

"Will never get a girl."

"Virgins."

"Fags."

"Misogynists."

"Pedophiles."

"Rapists."

Etc.

A huge part of society gets all offended or offensive when some men decide for themselves that they're not going to worship vagina.

I think the name "Bronie" is stupid, personally, but I watch the new seasons at some point after they come out. It's definitely better than watching yet another remix of the same brainless action plot or divorce porn movie to come out of Hollywood.

At least when they produce content for kids, the production teams try to have some kind of moral context, and pretend they think that telling the truth is a good thing.

It's basically a pastel version of "Batman: The Animated Series", in that it's a show with subtitles that takes the audience seriously, and doesn't completely divorce the plot from a moral context... while also avoiding dropping morality anvils on your head most of the time.

Also, the Dr. Whooves crossovers are fun.

To all the people here that accuse MLP fans of pedophilia, I'd like you to remember that Engagement Of Twilight on Tumblr is NOT A REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLE OF BRONIES.

I say this as a non-Brony who watched the first season of MLP. It was a bit... well... girly... for my taste, but it was well-written (Lauren Faust is actually a good writer!).

I have not problem with people liking the show. I don't get it personally, but I know people don't like half the shit I do so I don't feel inclined to judge Bronies for liking the show. Some of them, however, can be quite obnoxious and throw off creep vibes. It's the few that give the perfectly normal majority a bad name because of how vocal they are. It's the same reason people hate Valve fans, even though the majority of them are actually pretty cool.

tl;dr: most bronies are perfectly normal and defensible, but defending the obnoxious few is idiotic.

I seriously don't get how ponies are supposed to be feminine.

Sure, Lisa loves ponies and Bart couldn't care. But as far as I know horseback-riding is a pretty gender-neutral activity. Maybe at the pro level the races are done more with guys and the jumping barriers more with girls, but at the "I want to have fun riding in the woods" level? Not seeing it.

I tried watching MLP but it didnt have enough adult humour for me to get into it. I've enjoyed loads of childrens shows that had that proverbial glint in the corner of their eye's but MLP didnt seem to have enough of it.

The problem isn't them liking the show. The problem is obsession over it, wearing to shirts, always talking about it, Always announcing they're bronies proudly. You do that with anything and you're gonna get shit for it. It's weird and creepy when you think you're cool and special for being a grown man that watches the show. Again, nothing wrong with liking the show. It's how they act about liking the show that's fucking creepy. Fuck bronies.
