EvilPundit paid for an ad which can be seen here, targeted at /r/politics. That accounts for at least some of the extra subscribers we're seeing.

Lets keep it up /r/mensrights, don't think for a moment that we will not be a real force in the future that EVERYONE will know about.

EVERY change started out isolated and alone, but that didn't stop the cultural revolutionaries of the past! And they didn't even have the internet!

We will grow. We will organize. We will be headline news. And one day, we will win.

Imagine what a world with absolute legal gender equality would be like. Imagine what a world where there is NO fear of losing your kids, or being an alimony slave, or ridiculous rape definitions. Imagine knowing YOU helped make that world.

Clearly this is an indication that the movement is catching on with men and women everywhere and from all backgrounds. No that we are on the radar of the media and the culture at large it is only natural that people are attracted to our message. It is a message long over due!

This is the way it will probably stay.

I'm a young man in my 20s, and my generation did not live through any of the woman's rights movement. We didn't see the sexual harassment protections put in place between 1960-1990, so we have no reference point to a time when women where not treated with dignity.

We have grown up being told repeatedly women can do what men can, and we accept it was fact. As a generation, we may not entirely buy that men and women are the same, but we do believe they should be treated the same.

Because of this, more and more of us start questioning the way we are treated, and it all starts with the same thing.

For me, the best thing that has ever happened to the MRM is the pink ribbon campaign. It is impossible to not see non-stop breast cancer advertisements everywhere. I hardly ever see advertisements for the Danna-Farber cancer institute or the Jimmy Fund, mostly it's all pink ribbons.

I have seen stores that ask people if they want to buy pink ribbon gear on checkout, and one day I asked the woman behind the counter "do you having anything for prostate cancer?" to which I got a quizzical look. To this I replied "then no, I definitely don't". A couple guys behind me in line said "what he said". That was the start for me.

And that is a start I have seen all the time. Friends who work retail have told stories of young men asking why they should support breast cancer research when male cancers aren't given equal coverage. It's becoming something the general male public is waking up to, and the reason why is important to note.

Breast cancer has an 80+% survival rate because of the shit tons of funding it gets. While other forms of cancer receive weakened funding because female cancer takes all the money. I have lost two people in my family to cancers over the last 5 years, and I can't help but wonder if funding was more equal across cancer research that maybe they would be alive today.

This pisses us off, and it is something smart ass young men pick up on quickly. The MRM gains steam every time we are asked to support something that doesn't help us at all. Every pink license plate, every pink ribbon pin, and the entire month of October are all the seeds that plant the idea that men are getting a raw deal in our heads. Then we start hearing about false rape accusations. Then as we age we meet fathers who's children are trapped in abusive houses because the mother's gender is given priority. Pink plants the seed, and the older my generation gets, the larger the tree grows. As more modern young men come of age, this movement will gain greater and greater strength.

I would attribute this largely to the postering that a lot of guys are doing in various cities across North America. It may seem pointless because there are ideologues around every corner that will try to deface or rip them down but they sure seem to be getting a lot of attention.

If anyone out there wants to do something to promote people actually seeing and thinking about these issues, that's probably one of the best things you can do.

I'd be interested in seeing a graph of growth(rate and/or raw numbers) over time and any significant events(AskReddit/TIL submissions related to MR getting to the front page, etc).

This growth may be related to the new poster campaigns. I look forward to seeing more.

Also, one needs to bear in mind that this trend may eventually follow a sigmoid curve.
